Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 329 by Ansel Bick
When Milo sent them expensive gifts, Maxine happily accepted them.
She saw it as a sign of how deeply he valued Bianca.
But the things Mathis sent felt like burning coals in her hands.
Bianca told her there was no need to return them. Mathis had more money than he knew what to do with. If he wanted to give them away, they should keep them. Years ago, he had brought Cynthia here and nearly given the professor a heart attack. This could serve as compensation.
Maxine couldn't help but notice that Bianca was navigating life with far more clarity now. In the past, she had been just as stubborn as Walter—refusing to accept anything from people she disliked.
The old man was fuming silently in his study. Maxine nudged Bianca to go coax him.
Bianca knocked and walked in. The moment Walter saw her, he started scolding, "What kind of man did you marry? You endured three years with a monster like that, and you didn't even think to tell me?"
She had done it because she loved him back then. She had married him overflowing with joy.
She thought that since he agreed to marry her, there must have been some affection there. She never expected the sheer brutality of how he would treat her afterward.
Bianca spoke sincerely, "Wasn't I just young and stupid? I loved him, so I married him willingly. I thought happiness was waiting for me, not realizing I was walking barefoot into a field of thorns.
Once I saw the truth, I did everything I could to break free. I'll never make a mistake like that again."
Walter shot her a sidelong glance. "His family is massively wealthy. Are you sure you won't be tempted by the money and get back together with him?"
"I won't," Bianca said firmly. "Milo protected me with his life. I'm not an idiot."
Walter snorted angrily. "You sure look like an idiot to me! You let that adulterous pair bully you to that extent and didn't even breathe a word to me.
If you had told me, I would have gone straight to the top. What kind of undercover operation justifies destroying someone else's marriage?"
Bianca lowered her eyes. "Professor, that's all in the past now. I've learned to look forward. I'm completely serious about Milo."
Hearing this, Walter's expression finally softened.
On the night of the engagement banquet, they had all seen Milo throw himself into danger without a second thought to save Bianca. They felt they could trust a man like that.
Bianca stayed for lunch and explained the events of the past few years in detail. Maxine listened with a heavy heart.
"I never would have guessed a girl like you would harbor a secret crush for so long. It's a shame the man didn't cherish it. You wasted all that sincerity on the wrong person."
Maxine took Bianca's hand and said, "But don't lose hope. Trusting the wrong man wasn't your fault, and Milo is wonderful. Once your divorce is finalized, just marry him. I highly doubt Mathis can crash the wedding!"
Bianca smiled. "He definitely can't. We'll get our marriage license before we even hold the ceremony. There's nothing he can do."
What she didn't realize was that Mathis's obsession with her ran far deeper than she could ever imagine.
The older couple laughed warmly.
After lunch, Bianca chatted about tech with the professor for a while longer before driving off to see Dr. Sylvia Mills for her session.
Sylvia found it concerning that even after Mathis had publicly cleared her name, Bianca's mood hadn't improved. She remained deeply depressed.
