Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 351 by Ansel Bick
Mathis: "Yeah, the one from when I first saw you and secretly took a picture. You really have lived in my heart for twelve years. I didn't lie to you."
The breeze from Crown Harbour all those years ago seemed to brush past them once again, but sadly, they had already missed their chance.
Bianca didn't continue the topic.
Mathis realized she truly fit the description of a Taurus woman he'd read about online: avoidant personality.
He only hated himself for not looking up relationship advice back then. But at the time, he had been entirely focused on his illness and was in no mood for romance.
After they finished their meal, Mathis handed two cards to Bianca. One was a black card for her daily expenses.
"Even if we divorce, I'm still going to provide for both of you. My daughter isn't going to suffer."
While Bianca was still contemplating whether to accept them, Aveline snatched them up and stuffed them into her little purse.
Grinning, she said, "Thanks, Daddy! You're the best, love you!"
Mathis couldn't help but chuckle. "See? Our daughter knows exactly how to make me happy, but you don't."
Bianca scoffed dismissively, "My dad used to dote on me just like that. Isn't it natural for a father to spoil his daughter?"
Thinking of her father made her inexplicably teary-eyed. If he were still alive, she probably wouldn't have been forced to grow up so fast. She wouldn't have had to work herself to the bone for the man sitting in front of her for three whole years.
Mathis fell silent. He recalled a passage on psychology he had read before bed last night: Children who grow up surrounded by love have a core foundation of abundant emotional security.
They don't treat romance as salvation, and while they love others, they know how to protect their own sense of self.
They aren't hopelessly love-struck fools, nor are they cold and heartless.
They've seen blueprints for healthy intimate relationships and know what a good connection looks like, so they don't easily exhaust themselves in a toxic dynamic.
Bianca indeed treated their relationship with rational clarity. When she thought he had betrayed her, she decisively pulled away.
She would cry and she would hurt, but she would never look back.
But he hadn't grown up surrounded by love.
His parents hadn't loved him much; they merely raised him as an heir. His greatest skill was fighting for what he wanted, not knowing how to love someone.
Bianca didn't care about his silence. In the past, she would have tried to understand him, but he had shut her out. Now? She was completely over it.
During those three years, she had been good to him, hoping for an equal return. He hadn't given it. Waiting for three years had left her exhausted and disappointed.
The air between them grew heavy.
A moment later, Mathis slid another card across the table—an all-access pass to the CEO's office at Dawnstar Capital. "This will make it easier for you to come find me from now on."
Bianca didn't take it. "I'll make an appointment with your assistant if I need to see you," she said flatly. "Last time, I was frantic about our daughter's illness and came looking for you, but you still made me wait until your meeting was over, didn't you? We're getting a divorce anyway, so there's no need for special privileges."
