Bianca laughed. "Is it really fair for you to keep seducing me like this?"

Milo grinned back. "It wasn't on purpose tonight! Look, my hair's still wet. I literally just walked in. But hey, if you want to stare at my abs, feel free. I won't charge you."

Noticing she was still in her day clothes and looked utterly drained, he asked if she had just gotten back too.

Bianca gave him a quick rundown of her exhausting day.

Upon hearing she had seen Mathis twice in one day, Milo's mood instantly soured.

"I swear he's going to find excuses to see you every single day," he grumbled, pure jealousy dripping from his voice. "With him waving that face of his around you constantly, I'm terrified you won't be able to resist."

As much as he despised the guy, he had to admit Mathis was objectively gorgeous.

And his hands—long, elegant fingers. Way better than his own slightly stockier ones.

He'd heard women were obsessed with nice hands. He prayed Bianca wasn't one of them.

Bianca chided him gently. "Why are you talking nonsense? I'm so sick of him I could scream. Resist him? Please. Dr. Mills is talking to him tomorrow. I just want him to move away as soon as possible."

Milo was hoping for exactly that. Softening his tone, he comforted her, "Okay, okay, I was just talking crazy. I know you'd never give him the time of day."

He was reassuring her, but also trying to convince himself.

If she didn't actually like him, why would she have kissed him? Why would she have agreed to marry him?

He had seen how icy and untouchable Bianca could be. The fact that she was soft with him meant she definitely loved him.

It was getting late, so they ended the call shortly after.

Being long-distance was wearing on him, but he just couldn't step away from his current responsibilities.

He needed to find a way to live in the same city as her. Ugh, she still had over a month before her divorce decree was finalized. It was agonizing.

His dad was already asleep, so he planned to ask his parents over breakfast tomorrow if he could temporarily relocate to Kingsbridge City.

At the breakfast table the next morning, Milo opened his mouth several times, only to close it again.

Marcus shot his son a look over his coffee. "Spit it out. Since when did you become so hesitant?"

Milo finally spoke up. "Once the company's new game launches successfully, I want to move to Kingsbridge for a while. I can't stand being away from Bianca."

Karis gasped, clutching her chest theatrically. "You and your sister are both moving to Kingsbridge? What are we supposed to do?"

Ingrid and Corbin were currently deeply involved; she had no plans of returning anytime soon, and the two had already moved in together.

Milo knew a permanent move wasn't realistic.

"I'm not moving there forever," he assured his mother. "Just temporarily. I really miss her."

He didn't dare mention Mathis harassing Bianca, worried it would make his parents uneasy.

He didn't want anything tarnishing Bianca's image in their eyes. When she eventually married him, he wanted them to welcome her without any reservations.
