Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 39 by Ansel Bick
Bianca didn't care about why he had changed the passcode; she immediately rushed to check her files. To her immense relief, the photos and voice memos of her mother were all there. The data was restored.
She quickly backed up the precious files twice—once to her cloud drive, and once to her current phone.
Now, whenever she missed her mother, she could easily bring up her voice. Staring at a photo of her mother's beaming face, the agonizing reality that they were separated by death gripped Bianca's heart once more.
She had to bite the inside of her cheek to stop herself from breaking down in the middle of the office.
As for the old phone, the fact that Mathis had tampered with it made her feel like it was dirty. Without a second thought, she tossed it into the trash can.
Later that afternoon, the CEO of AuraByte Technologies arrived at the office. It was Neville Quinn, Cynthia's father.
He also happened to be Bianca's uncle—the very same man who had ruthlessly stolen her father's company years ago.
Neville now played the part of the distinguished, highly successful businessman. After hijacking AuraByte, he had capitalized on the brilliant team and strategic groundwork Bianca's father had painstakingly built, expanding the business into a massive empire.
The Quinns were now considered tech royalty. His arrival prompted Jed Hanson, the President of Progenix Tech, to personally come out and greet him.
"Mr. Quinn!" Jed greeted enthusiastically. "What brings you to our offices today?"
Neville smiled. "My daughter is getting some hands-on experience here. I just wanted to drop by and see how she's doing."
Jed chuckled. "You have nothing to worry about. Mr. Jagger has been keeping Ms. Quinn company in her office since her very first day."
Mathis had essentially planted a decorative vase in their company, but since it was a mutually beneficial exchange of resources, Jed didn't care in the slightest about Cynthia's actual competence.
Walking through the floor, Neville's eyes swept past Bianca working at her desk, entirely ignoring her existence as if she were thin air.
Bianca didn't acknowledge him either, despite the fact that Neville shared a striking resemblance to her late father.
Mathis already had a strategy mapped out. "Cynthia is currently the Technical Director here at Progenix. Once her team finishes building the foundational architecture for this project, the product will be ready for the global market. With that kind of massive achievement under her belt, her technical authority will be undeniable to the board, and we can easily advance our project."
Neville was thoroughly impressed by Mathis's calculated foresight. Beaming, he said, "You really do think of everything, Mathis. I'll have my team start prepping on our end immediately."
"Thank you, Mr. Quinn," Mathis nodded.
Knowing when to exit, Neville wrapped up the business talk and left the lovebirds to their 'work.'
Mathis personally walked him out. Cynthia happily linked her arm through his. "Mathis, thank you so much for taking my dad so seriously."
"It's what I should do."
On his way out, Neville once again caught sight of Bianca's slender figure working alone at her desk. A mocking smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. *Did she really think a girl like her could ever compete with his daughter?*
