Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 43 by Ansel Bick
He had obviously been waiting for her for a while, and his expression was anything but pleasant.
Bianca didn't know what he was doing here, but she could smell Cynthia's perfume on him. Smelling it this early in the morning meant they had definitely spent the night together.
She wanted to throw up but held it back.
When Mathis didn't speak immediately, Bianca stopped in her tracks, panic rising in her chest. Had he found out she was pregnant?!
Simon didn't seem like the type to stoop so low.
Catching the panic on Bianca's face, Mathis looked at her with amusement. "What, had your fill of cursing me out yesterday, and now you're scared?"
Mathis had listened to the recording Cynthia sent him yesterday and fumed for a long time. Bianca was getting more and more out of line.
Realizing it wasn't about the pregnancy, Bianca quietly let out a sigh of relief. A mocking look crossed her face. "What? Are you here to demand justice because I insulted your woman? If she can't handle it, you should give her a title sooner rather than later.
It would save her from feeling insecure every day and coming to me to prove she exists. I can't hit her, so am I not even allowed to scold her?"
Mathis's handsome face showed not a ripple of emotion as he said coldly, "Go to the Quinn family's dinner party on Friday."
Bianca glared at him. "If you're sick, go see a doctor."
With that, she sidestepped him and reached for the door of her Porsche.
Mathis didn't move. He seemed to be waiting for something.
Bianca's phone rang. It was the nursing home.
"Ms. Baldwin, your grandmother is missing."
Bianca's heart plummeted, her voice trembling. "Missing? How could she be missing?"
Mabel lived in a high-end nursing home where the security was always top-notch.
The nurse was also panicked. "We checked the security footage, and it's like she vanished into thin air."
Mathis frowned slightly. "I don't like it when you're disobedient. Think carefully. I don't have any sentimental attachment to your grandmother. If you keep being this stubborn, I promise you'll regret it."
Bianca slowly pried his fingers off, her eyes red. "Got it. I'll go. I expect my grandmother to be safe and sound by Friday."
Mathis curled his lips in a satisfied smile. "Take my car to Progenix."
Bianca coldly refused. "No thanks. I don't want you finding some excuse to dump me halfway again."
Mathis opened his mouth slightly, about to say something, but Bianca pulled open her car door without looking back, got in, and drove off.
On the way, she called Cillian. "Cillian, can you arrange for me to transfer to the branch office as soon as possible?"
Cillian keenly picked up on the edge in her voice and asked with concern, "Did Mathis pull something disgusting again?"
"Yeah."
