Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 45 by Ansel Bick
Harriet slid a check across the table. Bianca glanced at it—thirty million.
Was this meant to pay for a hit on Mathis? She definitely didn't have that kind of capability.
Bianca made no move to take the check. Harriet said, "I know Mathis has been teaming up with the Quinn family recently to launch a tech company. Mathis puts together the team, and the Quinns provide the capital.
If you can stop them, this thirty million is yours. I will also have my people rescue your grandmother from Mathis's clutches."
Bianca's background was completely transparent to the Jagger family. Back when Evita had arranged for her to marry Mathis, they had investigated her thoroughly.
In Harriet's eyes, Bianca—the titular Mrs. Jagger—had the means to stop this venture.
She had a brilliant mind. If she exposed her relationship with Mathis, the board of AuraByte Technologies would undoubtedly oppose the investment.
Bianca pushed the check back to Harriet. "I'm sorry, but I don't have the power to sway Mathis's decisions."
She had no desire to smash an egg against a rock. Even if she publicized their relationship, it wouldn't shake Cynthia's status.
They had a child together now; doing so would only invite a much crueler retaliation from Mathis.
Raymond Jagger strongly disliked Bianca's attitude and said darkly, "Bianca, my mother is doing you a favor by asking for your help. Don't be ungrateful."
Bianca fired back sarcastically, "No wonder you guys can't beat Mathis. You lose your composure so easily. Have you ever seen Mathis lose his cool?"
Mathis only ever lost control when he was fighting with her over Cynthia. The rest of the time, he always had everything in the palm of his hand.
Cynthia really did hold an extraordinary place in his heart.
Doesn't Mathis love playing games in the shadows? Let's see how long he can keep up the act in front of AuraByte's board. As long as we ruin his partnership with them, we've won a small victory over him."
Only then did Jules and Raymond understand their mother's intentions, saying happily, "Right. Let's light a fire in his backyard and see how he juggles two women."
Mathis had exiled their sons to overseas branches, cutting them out of the group's core business. The two of them wanted to tear Mathis apart, but lacking the ability to do so themselves, they had to rely on the old lady.
Harriet's car arrived back at the Progenix building. Bianca stepped out just as Mathis was returning from lunch with Cynthia.
He recognized the old lady's car, and his eyes shifted.
Back in her office, Bianca received an email from Mathis: [My grandmother is only using you to hit back at me. She doesn't have your best interests at heart.]
Bianca deleted it immediately. She thought to herself: If the old lady actually had the power to take you down, I'd gladly grab some popcorn.
