Summary for Chapter 52: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 52 by Ansel Bick

Bianca knew immediately that this was just another grand romantic gesture Mathis had arranged for Cynthia. Thankfully, she had blocked both of them on social media, sparing herself the agony of seeing their smug posts.

But Cynthia was never one to miss an opportunity to show off. She plastered the videos all over her pages and clearly spent a fortune buying trending spots online.

It was as if the algorithm was specifically targeting Bianca—the moment she opened an app, the videos were right there.

The top trending headline read: The Future Mrs. Jagger is So Lucky!

Xanthe had been furious since eight o'clock. She happened to be having dinner at a restaurant right across from Dawnstar Capital and had a front-row seat to the entire spectacle.

But out of consideration for Bianca, she kept her mouth shut when she got home.

Bianca was already numb to it. She wasn't the type to obsess over her phone anyway, so she simply set it aside, lit a scented candle, read a book, and drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Xanthe, still worried, asked cautiously, "Are you really okay?"

Bianca looked entirely unfazed. "What could possibly be wrong? I'm used to it. Go to sleep. We're going to Universal Studios tomorrow. See what a great pregnant friend I am? Taking you out to play."

Seeing that she was in a good enough mood to joke, Xanthe beamed. "As long as you don't let those two get to you!"

Later that night, a sudden storm rolled in. Thunder crashed, and heavy rain battered the windows.

Bianca fell into a horrific nightmare. It felt as though a crushing weight was pressing down on her chest.

In the dream, Mathis not only tore her away from Mabel but dragged her to a hospital to force an abortion. She saw herself lying in a pool of blood while his perfect little family of three stood nearby, laughing.

A sharp ache seized her heart, and she thrashed until she finally broke free from the nightmare. She woke up drenched in cold sweat, her heart hammering against her ribs. The dream had felt so terrifyingly real. Glancing at her phone, she saw it was only three in the morning.

Mabel nodded. "Yes, he's a wonderful young man. He really seems to care about what you're going through. Bunny, if your marriage is making you this miserable, you should really consider leaving your husband. You are such an incredible woman; you don't need a man to build a beautiful life."

They had been married for over three years, and that man hadn't visited her once. It was obvious how little he cared.

There was no point in staying trapped in a loveless marriage. Mabel had watched Bianca slowly lose her spark over the years, and it worried her endlessly.

Not wanting to add to her grandmother's stress, Bianca answered honestly, "I know. It's happening soon. We're already going through the legal process for a divorce. He just has a lot of assets, so it's a bit complicated. But don't worry, I'm going to be just fine."

She deliberately left out the pregnancy. The fewer people who knew about the baby, the safer they would be.

Mabel's face clouded with concern. "A lot of assets? Is he going to make the divorce difficult for you? Will he drag this out?"
