Summary for Chapter 68: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 68 by Ansel Bick

Mathis truly was a massive romantic, just not toward her.

Cillian said, "This whole thing is a bit bizarre. The professor and his wife wouldn't leak this, and I wouldn't either. There's only one possibility."

Bianca chimed in, "Mathis is orchestrating this from behind the scenes. There's no one he can't hype up if he sets his mind to it."

Cillian gloated, "This time Mathis hit a brick wall with the professor. He might not actually pull it off. Let's just wait and see!"

Professor Adler led a very routine life. He didn't work overtime on Sundays. After dinner, he would take a walk, read industry news, and then scroll through his phone.

He scrolled past Cynthia's trending topic and couldn't resist leaving a comment: *I do not accept frauds. That five hundred million isn't getting spent.*

The account was verified under his real name. Cillian had set it up for him back in the day, and he occasionally posted industry news he deemed important. Because the content was too dry, the only people following him were his own students.

His follower count was very low.

Professor Adler didn't think much of it, but who knew that by the early hours of the morning, this single comment would amass hundreds of thousands of likes. The old man's real identity behind the account was dug up, and even the detailed conversation from when Cynthia went to see him and he refused her was exposed.

When Bianca saw the fallout the next morning, she assumed the professor had paid for internet trolls, but he would never stoop to such things.

She called Cillian, and he picked up immediately.

"Having trouble adjusting at the branch office?"

Bianca said, "No, I just got to the office. Did you buy trolls for the professor's comment?"

The last time he threw a single insult at Cynthia, Mathis forced his junior colleague to sell her naming rights. Cillian really didn't want to mess with that powerful lunatic right now.

Cillian denied it, "It wasn't me. Who are Cynthia's enemies? We could ally with the enemy of our enemy."

Bianca couldn't guess. "The Quinn family is in business, so making enemies is normal, but I can't think of who it could be. Forget it, we're both swamped anyway. Let's not get involved and just watch the show."

Mr. Yates offered a professional smile. "Ms. Baldwin, you're the junior colleague handpicked by Mr. Calder himself. The relationship between you two isn't something outsiders like us can speculate about."

Bianca silently cursed this old fox. On her very first day, he was already framing her as someone who got her position through connections. In this world, a lie repeated often enough becomes the truth.

Bianca was too young and too beautiful; it was hard not to believe Mr. Yates's insinuations.

Just one sentence dealt a blow to Bianca's authority. Bianca figured she needed to find an opportunity to establish her dominance.

At three in the afternoon, Progenix Tech's new product launch took place as scheduled, broadcast live across the internet.

The main speaker was still Cynthia, and she attended arm-in-arm with Mathis.

It seemed they were officially confirming their relationship in public.

The host asked, "Mr. Jagger, are you two dating?"
