Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 73 by Ansel Bick
Bianca sat calmly in her chair, looking as if she had fully anticipated this outcome.
She said lightly, "I made it clear in the memo. Anyone who couldn't complete the task would be held accountable for a failure in their duties. You are all welcome to pack your things and leave."
Aside from the head of the sales department, everyone was stunned. Bianca actually had the nerve to dissolve the entire sales team.
Did she not understand that there was safety in numbers?
Hugo spoke up. "Ms. Baldwin, if you kick out the entire sales department, aren't you afraid they'll take their clients with them? Are you planning to negotiate all the company's business deals yourself?"
Bianca replied, "That is my concern. You don't need to worry about it, Mr. Yates."
The sales team exchanged nervous glances. None of them had actually planned on quitting.
Stellaride offered excellent benefits, and with the company preparing to go public, veteran employees who stayed long enough were in line for lucrative stock options.
Hugo could see they were panicking. Terrified they might fold, he quickly stepped in to control the room.
"Ms. Baldwin, with you showing such a blatant disregard for the bigger picture, do you really think Mr. Calder will trust you to run this branch?"
Bianca knew he was implying a threat involving the board of directors. "Why don't you ask Mr. Calder yourself?"
Hugo's expression didn't waver. He already had his next move mapped out.
Bianca turned her attention back to the sales staff. "If I don't have the reports I asked for by the end of the day, please report to HR, sign your papers, and process your resignations according to company protocol."
All eyes shifted to Hugo.
He shot them a look that told them to hold the line.
In his mind, Bianca was going to be out of a job very soon.
After the meeting ended, the sales team communicated through their private group chat.
"Mr. Yates, what do we do now?"
"Don't submit the reports," Hugo replied. "Let's see what she can actually do about it."
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Wilder."
Milo Wilder looked genuinely surprised. "Damn, your hands look like they were drawn for a comic book. They'd look amazing with a fresh manicure."
Mona shot Milo a bewildered look. Was this guy actually here to talk business?
Bianca kept her expression completely neutral. "Manicures make writing code inconvenient."
Milo took a seat and laughed. "You don't actually write code, do you?"
"Do you think I bought my patents?"
"What patents?" Milo looked confused. Bianca opened her laptop and pulled up the digital files to show him.
"That project Progenix Tech has been hyping up online recently? It uses my patents."
They leaned in closer to look at the screen. From a quiet corner of the restaurant, someone pressed the shutter on a camera.
