Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 74 by Ansel Bick
Milo got straight to the point. "Oh. Then why are you practically unknown? Did you piss off Mathis Jagger or his woman? You really shouldn't mess with Mathis. He's absolutely ruthless."
I pissed off both of them, Bianca thought.
Keeping her face neutral, she replied, "NDA."
Milo seemed to connect the dots and gasped, "Damn! You're this talented and people are out here spreading rumors that you slept your way up? I feel like cussing someone out on your behalf."
Bianca said calmly, "Swearing isn't going to solve anything. Could you walk me through your company's situation?"
The food arrived. "Let's eat first," Milo insisted. "We'll talk after. I'm starving."
"Alright." Staring at the food in front of her, Bianca found she had little appetite. She took tiny, slow bites.
Milo noticed. "Not a fan of steak? Or did I ruin your appetite?"
Bianca simply set down her silverware. "I just have a lot on my mind. It's hard to enjoy the food."
Milo rolled his eyes. "Whatever. You're just an employee. If your boss isn't making money, switch to another company. If worst comes to worst, come work for me. Do you know how to develop games?"
He lowered his voice. "I started a gaming company behind my dad's back, and I'm poaching developers right now. You're a heavy hitter with your own patents. Come work with me."
If Bianca hadn't read his family's background file, she would have assumed he was running a crypto scam.
She shook her head. "I don't do game development. My expertise is strictly computing power."
"Oh. I figured code was code and you could do it all." Milo sliced off a piece of steak, tossed it into his mouth, and immediately started complaining. "No wonder you don't like it. This is incredibly mediocre. Your assistant has terrible taste picking this dump. Let's go to a local spot next time. I hate fancy dining."
Mona felt incredibly wronged. This was one of the top-rated upscale restaurants in the entire city, and the dossier explicitly said his father loved eating here.
Bianca was surprised. "Didn't you study abroad? How can you hate this kind of food?"
Milo scoffed. "What international student actually likes eating this stuff every day? I had so much of it while studying abroad, I was sick to my stomach."
"Over the phone."
Hugo really hadn't left a single trace of evidence.
Bianca thought for a moment before saying slowly, "Could you ask your tech department to send me another email detailing the specific requirements? I'll personally take over the project."
"I'll ask for you."
Milo casually pulled out his phone, called his dad, and slipped into a rapid-fire local dialect.
Bianca couldn't understand a word he was saying. She shot Mona a look for help, but Mona signaled she was equally lost.
Bianca gave her a look but didn't say anything.
After hanging up, Milo said, "My dad says he's already signed a memo of understanding with your competitor, Crestwood Dynamics. If they can't figure it out, then he'll consider you."
