Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 79 by Ansel Bick
Mathis let out a cold laugh. "Absolute trust between a man and a woman? It seems Cillian is quite smitten with her."
Quincy didn't dare utter a word, waiting in silence for Mathis's next remark.
But nothing else came.
That night, Mathis entertained clients until the early hours, drinking himself into an absolute stupor.
Quincy drank alongside him and ended up throwing up multiple times. He couldn't shake the feeling that Mathis's entire personality had drastically shifted lately.
And he had no idea why.
...
The R&D team at the branch finalized the new proposal. Bianca reviewed it, found it highly satisfactory, and personally took Mia Vaughn to wait in the lobby of Fiyato's headquarters for Marcus Wilder.
Marcus had repeatedly refused to see her. After waiting all morning, the two women finally threw caution to the wind and intercepted him.
"Mr. Wilder, I just need five minutes of your time to review the proposal we've drafted for your company," Bianca insisted.
Marcus looked extremely uncomfortable. "Ms. Baldwin, it's not that I don't want to sit down with Stellaride. It's just that Mr. Jagger from Dawnstar put the word out. He told me to reject any partnership with you."
Bianca felt like her lungs were going to explode with rage. Mathis was really going out of his way to make her life miserable at every turn.
She had already left, yet that scumbag still wouldn't let her go.
Marrying him was easily the stupidest thing she had ever done in her life.
The price she was paying was far higher than she ever imagined.
Mia shot Bianca a sideways glance. What on earth had she done to offend one of the actual gods of the investment world?
Forcing down her anger, Bianca kept her tone even. "Mr. Wilder, given your standing, you don't need to answer to him. After all, this new technology integration is critical to your company's transformation. Stellaride was in the wrong before, but I've done everything in my power to make up for it. I hope you'll give me—and your company—a chance."
Marcus had recently pressured Crestwood Dynamics several times, but they simply couldn't improve their tech.
Bianca quickly discovered that top-tier salespeople weren't just great at reading people; they were also exceptional at picking restaurants.
Given Bianca's current cravings, she wanted to tag along with Mia for lunch every single day.
Unfortunately, Mia was constantly out meeting clients and was rarely at the office during lunchtime.
Mia chose a local hole-in-the-wall joint with incredible flavor. Their signature beef noodle soup and caramelized taro completely won Bianca over.
Seeing how happily Bianca was eating, Mia couldn't hold back her burning curiosity any longer. "How exactly did you manage to piss off Mathis Jagger?"
Bianca choked, coughing violently. Mia looked at her, convinced they had history, and asked in a low whisper, "Are you his ex-girlfriend? Did you dump him? He's definitely holding a grudge and trying to ruin your life out of spite."
Bianca was speechless.
Her guess was completely off-base. Mathis had never loved her to begin with.
Just as Bianca opened her mouth to speak, Milo leaned over with a gossip-hungry expression. "That's what I figured, too. Otherwise, given your status, it makes zero sense for Mathis to personally call my dad to crush you.
