The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 128

The moment the words left her mouth, in front of the entire crowd, Juno viciously kicked his chair out from under him.

The punk flipped backward, crashing violently to the concrete alongside the heavy plastic chair.

The back of his head smacked the ground with a sickening, hollow thud.

It sounded like a solid hit.

Juno glanced at the table and spotted a heavy carving knife meant for lamb chops resting on a plate.

Reading the room instantly, Claire hurried over, gently helped the trembling old man off the floor, and pulled him safely to the side.

Juno had this completely handled.

The punk scrambled to his feet with alarming speed, clutching the back of his head. Feeling no blood, he let out a sharp breath.

But his brain was ringing like a bell.

He grimaced, baring his teeth. "You've really pissed me off now."

He hoisted a stool into the air and lunged straight at Juno.

Juno executed a flawless spinning back kick, sending the stool flying out of his hands. Before he could recalibrate, he threw a desperate punch toward her face.

Using his own momentum against him, Juno grabbed his wrist, twisted it, and slammed his hand flat onto the table. With her right hand, she snatched the carving knife she had spotted earlier and drove it straight down.

The punk squeezed his eyes shut. "AHHHH!!"

The grown man let out a terrified, high-pitched scream.

His two friends gasped, sucking in cold air. They couldn't believe someone actually had the nerve to use a knife in broad daylight.

The punk slowly cracked an eye open, peering down at his hand, realizing the agonizing pain he expected wasn't there.

The freezing steel blade was buried deep into the wooden table, wedged perfectly in the tiny gap between his fingers.

A cold sweat instantly drenched his entire body.

Juno's expression remained perfectly apathetic, her eyes entirely devoid of emotion. She pulled the knife free with a single, sharp tug, and the punk's heart almost gave out.

In just a single second, he was sweating like a pig.

He gasped for air like he had just survived a shipwreck.

Juno casually flipped the knife in her hand with terrifying precision, her voice a deadly, even drone. "Apologize. Now."

The punk was way past caring who was right or wrong. He nodded frantically.

Claire chimed in. "She's right, you really shouldn't be walking alone."

The old man tried to decline.

Claire kept trying to gently persuade him.

Finally losing her patience, Juno just grabbed the little old man by the collar and marched him down the steps.

The old man: ...

Juno handed him off to Morgan. "Take him home, evaluate his living situation, and report back to me."

"Should I send him to the XVIII Haven?"

"Yes."

The XVIII Haven was a massive charitable organization Juno had established herself.

After sorting the situation out, she finished her shopping trip with Claire and headed home.

Only to find an unwelcome guest waiting.

The moment she walked through the front doors, the man who had been aggressively shouting suddenly fell dead silent.
