The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 138

A petite figure walked in through the doorway, her doll-like face twisted in disgust. She stopped in front of Juno and commanded her men, "Turn her around."

In an instant, Juno's expression completely changed, shifting into a picture of absolute terror, too afraid to even look up.

Lucia Corbett, who had been covering her nose and mouth with a handkerchief, lowered her hand and eyed Juno suspiciously.

She's pathetic.

Juno's porcelain face was smeared with dark soot, looking utterly wretched. She refused to meet Lucia's gaze.

Lucia stepped closer, brutally gripping Juno's chin and forcing her to look up. The moment their eyes met, Lucia knew this wasn't her Juno.

She let go. "Morgan and Tristan dragged themselves all the way to Kingsland for this worthless trash?"

The enforcer pressed the baton harder into her back—a level of force a normal person couldn't tolerate.

Naturally, Juno was highly cooperative.

She let out a piercing scream.

The shrill sound grated on Lucia's nerves, flashing a murderous look across her face. She truly wanted to just end the girl right here.

While Juno was trying to figure out how to act like the ultimate entitled brat, the image of Rhiannon flashed perfectly into her mind. Every little movement played out in slow motion, giving her a flawless blueprint.

Immediately, Juno thrashed hysterically. "Who the hell are you people?! How dare you treat me like this! Do you know whose daughter I am?! The Corringtons! Do you know who my grandma, my parents, and my brothers are?! If anything happens to me, you're all dead!!"

Lucia dug a pinky into her ear, then lashed out with a vicious kick. "Shut your mouth! One more word and I'll sew your lips shut!!"

A small, distinct footprint was stamped squarely onto the center of Juno's white shirt.

Seeing that Juno was genuinely a weak, powerless piece of trash, Lucia decided not to waste any more time. "Let her go."

Still buried in Chuck's chest, Juno pointed a dramatic finger straight at Lucia.

Miles's eye twitched violently. When did Ms. Mercer get so... whiny?

Lucia clutched her arm, bright red blood rapidly seeping out and soaking her sleeve in seconds.

Chuck's gaze turned frigid. Keeping one arm wrapped protectively around Juno, he raised his gun with his free hand, fully intending to finish the job.

Juno hurriedly grabbed his wrist to stop him. In her feigned panic, she shot Lucia a wildly provocative glare. Her imitation of Rhiannon was an absolute masterpiece, as if they had been cut from the same mold. "Don't! I'm sure she didn't mean it! Please don't hurt anyone because of me."

Hearing that, Lucia rolled her eyes so hard they almost got stuck in the back of her head.

The bullet had torn straight through her arm, taking a chunk of flesh with it. A normal person would be screaming in agony, but Lucia suddenly let out a sharp laugh at Chuck. "Looks like you aren't that devoted after all. After Juno died, your taste went straight to the gutter? You can stomach this? I'm honestly starting to think the real Juno died for nothing."
