The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 152

Besides those corporations, the Corrington family in Kingsland, Lucia Corbett’s faction, and The Imperium were all getting involved.

Why was the Corrington family joining the fray???

The media was panicking. Overnight, every single article regarding Maia was wiped from the internet.

It was as clean as a blank sheet of paper.

Lucia Corbett hadn’t expected her meticulous sabotage to require her own cleanup. In a foul mood, she hurled her tablet across the room.

The screen shattered instantly.

She sat on the sofa, rubbing her temples while a doctor applied medicine to her bruised knee.

Juno was exactly as she used to be—ruthless and unrelenting.

A subordinate walked in with some sweets. “Boss, please eat something.”

Lucia snapped out of her daze and popped a grape into her mouth, chewing slowly as she thought of the sisters’ names.

She had met Maia before. She had to admit, she was an incredibly gentle person.

It was just such a pity.

“Boss, when are we heading back?”

“This afternoon.”

She couldn’t stay in Kingsland any longer. If Juno came looking for trouble, she wouldn't be able to handle it.

“Understood. I’ll make the arrangements immediately.”

...

Juno woke up wrapped in Gwendolyn Jagger’s embrace. She had slept exceptionally well.

As an ex-mercenary, her instincts were sharper than most, and she was usually an incredibly light sleeper.

But here, with Gwendolyn, she felt entirely at ease.

Noticing she was awake, Gwendolyn gently stroked her hair. “Did you sleep well?”

“Yeah,” Juno replied, her morning voice slightly raspy.

Gwendolyn sat up. “It’s still early. I’ll go make breakfast. Rest a bit longer.”

Gwendolyn poured Juno a glass of milk. “Drink up. It’ll help you grow.”

Rylan nearly choked. “She’s twenty-one! How much more is she going to grow?”

Gwendolyn glared at him. “If you don’t want to eat, you can crawl outside.”

Stripped of his human rights, Rylan shoved a piece of toast into his mouth. Tsk, tsk. He finally saw the picture. The family absolutely adored Juno to a sickening degree.

She could do absolutely no wrong in their eyes.

Sebastian spoke up. “Rylan’s heading out later. Since you don’t have any plans today, go with him and relax a bit.”

Rylan immediately protested. “Huh?! When did I agree to that?!”

“Right now.” The two words brokered no argument. It was rare for Sebastian to assert his authority at home so forcefully.

He had never been this strict, even with Babur.

Rylan shot Juno a sideways glance. Taking an innocent girl out with his crowd?

She’d probably end up crying for her mother.
