Two servers rushed in and dragged the reluctant women out of the room.
The women glared venomously at Juno. A woman’s intuition was sharp—they knew Juno was the reason they were losing out on easy money!
That little bitch!
Once the women were gone, the room felt significantly emptier. The doors were left open, and the staff quickly brought in purifiers to clear the air.
All five men in the room were deeply interested in Juno.
After the staff left and the doors were shut, Mr. Grayson began shuffling a deck of cards with his long fingers. “What’s the point of just sitting around? Let’s play!”
Juno watched his hands. His movements were slick and flawless. He was a seasoned pro.
Rylan ordered some juice for her.
Ordering juice at a nightclub—only Rylan would pull a stunt like that.
Mr. Grayson dealt the cards to the group. “Care to join us, sweetheart?”
“I’m fine just watching,” Juno replied coolly.
Mr. Grayson didn’t push. “Suit yourself.”
Three-card poker. Highest hand wins.
When Rylan checked his cards, Juno caught a glimpse. It was a great hand.
Rylan couldn’t hide the smug excitement on his face.
Juno didn’t react. She sat quietly, sipping her juice. A faint scent hit her nose—there were traces of a sedative in her drink, though it had zero effect on her.
Mr. Grayson covertly watched Juno finish the glass, a triumphant smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
He turned his attention back to the table. “Usual rules. It’s no fun without stakes.”
One of the trust-fund kids chimed in. “What did you have in mind?”
“Let’s play for cash.”
“Deal.”
The group exchanged knowing glances. Juno could immediately tell they were setting Rylan up to be fleeced.
Everyone revealed their hands. Rylan threw his cards down with utter confidence, but Mr. Grayson’s smile only widened. He laid his cards flat on the table. “I win.”
Rylan looked at the table in disbelief. How was that possible? His luck had to be terrible today.
“Again!”
A few more rounds went by, and Rylan was practically cleaned out. He sat there, staring blankly, unable to wrap his mind around it.
That’s impossible!
The other guys looked at him like he was an absolute moron.
After all these years, Rylan hadn't wised up one bit.
As they geared up for another round, Juno spoke up. “Give me your cards. I’ll play for you.”
Already tilted, Rylan had zero faith in Juno. Annoyed, he swatted her hand away. “Back off, don’t mess around.”
If she didn’t want to listen, that was her problem. When she ended up crying her eyes out later, she couldn't blame him for not warning her!
Fed up with her rebellious attitude, Rylan threw his hands up.
Let her dig her own grave.
Mr. Grayson’s eyes gleamed with predatory excitement. “Sweetheart, you can play, but the stakes are going to be a little different for you.”
“Okay.”
“If you lose, you take off a piece of clothing. If I lose, I’ll do the same. How about it?”
Juno raised her eyes. Her dark, clear gaze remained completely unfazed as she stared right at him. “There’s no loss for you if you take your clothes off. Just pay up.”
“Hahaha! Deal!”
Mr. Grayson agreed entirely too eagerly, his face practically radiating victory.
It was as if he had already won.
He dealt the cards. Juno picked hers up.
Rylan couldn’t help but peek at her hand. The cards were impossibly low.
He grabbed Juno’s wrist. “We’re leaving.”
The men instantly glowered at him.
Juno brushed his hand off. Having tolerated his utter stupidity all night, she said coldly, “Sit in the corner and stay out of my way.”
