The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 155

Rylan was dumbfounded.

He stared blankly at his swatted hand, then fumed silently, refusing to engage with her anymore.

What a stupid woman.

She looked smart but did the most idiotic things.

This time, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to protect her.

She wouldn’t let him!

Rylan glared at her, puffing his cheeks in anger.

She was definitely going to lose!

With a garbage hand like that, how could she possibly win?

The men began revealing their cards. The more Rylan saw, the colder his heart turned. Every single hand was higher than Juno’s.

Then, Juno casually tossed her cards onto the table.

Rylan’s eyes widened in sheer shock. For a second, he thought he was hallucinating.

The three cards on the table were entirely different from the ones he had just seen.

Completely different.

He explicitly remembered her hand being terrible.

Am I losing my mind? Is my memory already failing me?

Juno’s hand was the highest.

The other trust-fund kids exchanged confused looks, harboring the same doubts as Rylan.

They chalked it up to beginner's luck.

Mr. Grayson chuckled smoothly. “Looks like you win, sweetheart.”

They pushed the cash toward her.

In the next round, Rylan kept his eyes peeled, practically burning the image of Juno’s initial cards into his brain. He was one step away from snapping a photo.

Yet the outcome still defied logic.

The cards Juno tossed down were once again the winning hand.

It was as if she knew exactly what everyone else was holding and produced a hand just marginally better.

No matter how slow on the uptake Rylan was, even he finally realized what was happening.

Juno was using sleight of hand.

And she was doing it without leaving a single trace.

She was a veteran.

Her skills completely dwarfed Mr. Grayson’s.

Mr. Grayson immediately stood up as well, smoothly adjusting his suit jacket. “I need to use the restroom too. Had a bit too much to drink.”

The other men jeered suggestively.

Mr. Grayson glared at them and walked out.

He trailed Juno into the restroom. The moment Juno turned around, Mr. Grayson lazily locked the door behind him, an absolute predator’s grin on his face. “Sweetheart.”

“What do you want?”

“You really are too innocent. What do you think a man wants when he follows a woman into the bathroom?” Mr. Grayson’s expression hardened, his gaze turning purely lecherous. “I want to fuck you.”

He punctuated every syllable, his eyes burning with filthy intent.

He took a slow step toward her. “I’ve been itching for you all damn night, and I finally got my chance.”

He closed the distance in seconds, reaching out to stroke her face. Her skin was flawless—porcelain smooth.

“Just be a good girl and give in to me tonight. I promise I’ll be gentle.”

Juno’s calm voice cut through the air. “Do you have any idea who my family is?”

Mr. Grayson scoffed dismissively. He tilted his head, his lips just inches from her neck. Just as his greedy mouth moved to kiss her, Juno’s hand shot up, clamping down on his throat like a steel vise. Slowly and forcefully, she shoved him away.

Her grip was terrifyingly strong.

Mr. Grayson’s eyes snapped clear, his breathing suddenly steadying as realization hit him. “The drug didn’t work on you?!”
