The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 163

Juno scanned the report and glanced up at her operative. "Did anyone else handle these samples?"

"No, ma'am."

"Look into it."

Dig up exactly where Rhiannon came from.

"Understood."

The two operatives gave a brief nod and vanished from the room.

.

Back in the dingy clinic, a shouting match was echoing through the halls.

The revelation that Rhiannon’s blood type didn't match was the final nail in her coffin.

Cynthia seized the opportunity to tear into her. "Hah! I always wondered why you went off to the Corrington family and never bothered to send a single penny back to your parents! Turns out you're not even their real flesh and blood! What a total waste of space!"

Cynthia hurled whatever trash she could find at Rhiannon, her curses growing louder. "If you're not even related to us, why the hell should we take care of you?! The Corringtons aren't playing the fool anymore, and neither are we! Get out of my sight!"

Caleb looked deeply conflicted. He didn't have much affection left for Rhiannon, but he couldn't just stand by and let Cynthia assault her.

He grabbed Rhiannon's arm and ushered her out of the clinic. "I didn't know it would turn out like this. I'm sorry."

He truly didn't know what else to say.

Pulling the last thirty dollars from his wallet, he shoved it into her hand. "This is all the cash I have on me. I know you're struggling, just... use it to find a place to stay."

With a complicated look, he turned around and walked back through the clinic doors, leaving her entirely alone.

Rhiannon stood frozen outside the bustling entrance. The summer night air was warm, but a bone-deep chill radiated from the very core of her soul.

She fought the urge to throw the pathetic thirty dollars into the street. She couldn't. It was her only lifeline.

Tucking it away, she stared blankly at the busy street traffic, completely lost. Where was she supposed to go?

In this massive world, there was suddenly no place for her.

Why?

He had inherited his father's flawless genetics!

If he was ugly, then attractive people simply didn't exist!

He immediately looked to Harrison Corrington for backup.

Harrison, who was reviewing quarterly financial reports, casually raised his tablet to block Babur's pleading gaze. "Don't look at me. Your mother finds me annoying half the time too."

Like father, like son.

Finishing up the packing, Gwendolyn turned her attention back to Juno. "I haven't heard a word about where Rhiannon disappeared to. Just... be careful when you go back to campus, okay?"

Juno looked amused. "You really think she's a threat to me?"

Gwendolyn paused, her expression turning serious. "She's deeply insecure and holds onto grudges. After raising her all these years, I know how she operates.

It sounds awful to say, but she's the type to seek revenge for any perceived slight. You can just see it in her eyes."

Rhiannon's eyes had always carried a toxic, calculating edge. She hid it well, but to seasoned adults who had navigated high society for decades, seeing through someone like her was effortless.
