Juno pulled out her phone and texted Morgan.
[Did you call Anya over?]
[It was Chuck.]
The only people capable of summoning Anya were either close acquaintances or powerful figures from Blackwood City.
Anya's presence provided absolute, undeniable proof that the exhibition was a total fraud.
Margie turned to the woman who had provoked them earlier. "I really have to ask—why on earth did you provoke her?"
Now look at you. Utterly humiliated.
Anya didn't hesitate to twist the knife. "Also, the linework on that sunflower painting is terribly stiff. The proportions are all wrong, and the shading is amateur at best. It has clear traces of a desperate imitation—and not even a good one.
"I understand that Mrs. Talbot loves her daughter and wants the world to see her 'brilliance', but I genuinely can't fathom how you had the nerve to hang something this atrocious in public.
"Did you know all your other pieces were fakes, so you threw up one real painting just to make the situation feel slightly less pathetic?"
Everyone Juno mentored had inherited her venomous tongue.
The veins in Melba's temples throbbed violently.
Juno's magnetic voice cut through the silence. "I've seen the art. There is absolutely nothing here worthy of taking back to my mother. If she wants some, I'll just paint a few more pieces for her. But thank you for the generous offer, Mrs. Talbot. Though, honestly, you'd be better off spending that energy finding your daughter a halfway decent art tutor."
Margie smirked. "Well then, we won't intrude any further."
With that, the two women spun around and confidently walked out.
Having completely annihilated the Talbots' event, they strolled away without a care in the world.
From this day forward, the Talbot family and the Corrington family were locked in an all-out war.
If the Talbots wanted a fight, the Corringtons would gladly oblige them until the bitter end.
Thanks to this disastrous art exhibition, Margie and Juno had actually grown much closer.
Gwendolyn had been eagerly waiting all day. The moment Juno returned, she hurried out to greet them.
"How was it? Was it not as nice over there as it is back home in Kingsland? Did they try to bully you?"
Changing out of her shoes, Margie scoffed. "Who could possibly bully her? Let me tell you, Gwendolyn, your daughter completely nuked their entire event today. You have no idea how utterly destroyed the Talbots looked.
He had noticed the Talbot family's stock stabilizing.
Hearing this, Gwendolyn immediately turned to Juno.
"I did." Juno took a hot towel from the maid, wiped her hands, and replied casually.
Harrison picked up his silverware. "I can't believe you actually stopped."
After everything Rhiannon had put her through, she was really just letting it slide?
"My mother asked me to."
So she did.
Gwendolyn beamed.
Her daughter was just too adorable!
Harrison mused, "Pulling back now means a lot of the capital we exhausted earlier was wasted. You lost a significant amount of money stopping midway. You really should have just pushed through and finished them off."
"I pushed them to the brink of bankruptcy once," Juno said smoothly. "I can easily do it again."
