The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 187

The insult stung, and the hot-tempered girl immediately kicked out. Juno simply caught her ankle and flipped her upward.

Losing her balance entirely, the girl tumbled backward.

Juno let go, and the girl hit the ground with a heavy thud.

Her face scrunched up in pain. "You dare do this to me?!"

The other two girls rushed over to help her up.

The girl glared at Juno, but smartly decided not to physically challenge her again. Rubbing her bruised backside, she limped outside, pulled out her phone, and dialed Claud. "Boss, it's me. Someone just hit me. Yeah, at the mall near the school."

After a brief exchange, she hung up and turned back to face Juno. "Just so you know, my backup is on the way!"

Pointing a finger right at Juno's face, she yelled, "I'm going to make you pay a hundred times over for what you just did!"

Unable to listen to any more of it, Claire stepped forward. "You'd better shut your mouth and leave. This isn't a place for you to act out."

Unfazed, Juno casually sat back down, raising an eyebrow. She wasn't taking this seriously at all. "Let it go. Wait for her people to get here."

Claire pressed her lips together helplessly. She was honestly exhausted; she had no idea running a boutique would involve so much drama.

Claud happened to be nearby and stormed into the mall with a large crew.

At the sight of the intimidating crowd, the local shoppers quickly scrambled out of the way, carving out a clear path for them.

Once they passed, people nervously pointed and whispered.

Claud used to be the local loan shark and the undisputed boss of the area. Even though he had mysteriously stopped his loan-sharking activities a while back, his notorious reputation still held serious weight.

Everyone wondered whose business they were marching in to destroy.

Human curiosity took over, and people followed Claud up to the second floor, watching from a safe distance.

They watched as he barged into one specific store.

"That shop looks new. I wonder what happened for him to bring so many guys."

"With a crew that size, they must be planning to tear the place apart."

Why else would he bring such a huge crowd?

A few onlookers genuinely felt bad for the store owner.

Seeing Claud arrive, the girl let out a long sigh of relief. Backed by so many people, she instantly felt invincible.

Why wasn't this going the way she planned?

Why did Claud suddenly look terrified of this woman?

"Did I hit the wrong person?" Juno asked.

Claud immediately stood at attention. "No, you were completely right to do it."

In his mind, Juno could do no wrong.

Juno's judgment was absolutely flawless.

She had saved his life.

He couldn't bite the hand that fed him.

Juno issued her command, completely unwilling to waste any more time on the trivial matter. "Take her away, then."

"Understood."

Claud agreed. Without giving the girl a chance to protest, he forcefully dragged her out.
