The crowd had fully expected to witness a brawl, only for absolutely nothing to happen.
The massive crew left just as quietly as they had arrived.
The girl looked furious as she was dragged away, realizing that getting Claud to avenge her was entirely impossible.
Who would have thought that woman actually knew Claud?
Having settled the issue, Juno grabbed her jacket and headed out, dropping a few final pieces of advice to Claire before slipping into the car.
She needed to visit the Jagger family. Uncle Kaelen had just texted her, mentioning that the elderly woman was finally able to walk around.
Morgan drove her there.
On the way, Morgan glanced at Juno through the rearview mirror. "I heard you beat up Lorcan Yates."
"Yeah," Juno replied absently, tapping away on her phone.
"Were you hurt?"
"Heh, what could a piece of trash like Lorcan possibly do to me."
She knew exactly how Lorcan operated, which made taking him down effortless.
She never engaged in battles she wasn't certain she'd win.
Morgan wanted to add something, but swallowed the words. Juno didn't notice.
The car pulled up smoothly in front of the hospital.
Morgan opened the door for her. As she stepped out, she spotted Kaelen waiting at the entrance. He had a light sheen of sweat on his forehead; clearly, he had been standing there for a while.
She walked over briskly, and Kaelen hurried to escort her inside. "Matilda woke up right after Rhiannon left. She's been resting for a few days and is finally out of bed, but we still wanted you to take a look just to be safe."
Juno followed him into the VIP ward. A number of chief physicians were gathered inside, and their expressions immediately shifted to total seriousness the moment she walked in.
Acting as if she were the only person in the room, Juno walked straight to the elderly woman. She checked her pulse, and after confirming there were no irregularities, she reviewed the medical charts.
"The poison is completely flushed out. A little more rest and she can be discharged."
Juno tossed the chart back to the chief physician.
Finally, she had managed to get Juno to visit.
Treating them like precious treasures, the old woman pulled two concert tickets from under her pillow and held them out to Juno.
Juno took them, thoroughly confused.
Matilda tipped her chin up slightly, trying to look nonchalant. "Well... your uncle mentioned that kids your age usually like celebrities, so I pulled some strings and got two tickets. Do you want to go? I can go with you?..."
Juno looked down at the tickets and realized they were for Ashmere's concert.
The singer's career had skyrocketed; it had taken her no time at all to dominate the top three spots on the national charts.
Lately, her endorsement ads were plastered absolutely everywhere.
And now she was hosting a concert. Not bad at all.
Juno looked up from the tickets. Finding the gesture somewhat novel and rather amusing, she asked gently, "You're going to come with me?"
The bass at a concert like that could probably blow the old woman's hair back. Was she entirely sure she wanted to endure that?
