The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 189

Matilda shifted her gaze awkwardly and cleared her throat. "Just tell me if you want to go. If you do, I can tag along."

Juno handed the tickets back. "Just focus on recovering." She knew the old woman just wanted to spend time with her, so she added, "I'll come visit when I can, and once you're fully healed, I'll take you out."

"Do you mean that?"

The elderly woman couldn't quite believe it. After how she had treated Juno in the past, was there really no lingering resentment?

Juno humored her. "I do."

Having nothing else to complain about, the old woman muttered, "Then you better come visit more often. If you visit, I'll heal faster, and once I'm healed, you can take me out."

The elderly woman didn't have any ulterior motives.

She just wanted to see Juno a bit more.

And just like that, Juno had gained another person who genuinely cared for her.

As Juno was about to leave, the old woman asked earnestly one last time, "Are you sure you don't want them? Don't just decline to be polite."

She clarified, "Seriously, don't be a stranger... This is my way of showing I care."

Elderly folks could be just like children sometimes.

Juno accepted the tickets. "I'll hold onto them, then."

The old woman nodded vigorously. "Yes, yes. Go see the show if you feel like it."

After leaving the hospital, Juno headed back to Northbridge University.

She found out that Rhiannon had returned from Jindale City, and Faye Ashworth was right back at her side. It was October, and the weather was beginning to cool down. Faye's hair had grown out slightly—it still looked awful, but at least it would offer some warmth for the winter.

With Rhiannon back, Faye acted like she finally had a powerful backer again, strutting around with a completely different attitude.

Just as Faye was about to mouth off, Juno smoothly warned her, "Behave, or I'll shave your head again."

That single sentence was enough to silence Faye immediately.

Also in October, YG's fashion week show was scheduled to take place in Paris.

Tristan Todd had been so busy lately he was practically invisible. Then again, he was usually invisible anyway.

Unless something was urgent, the two of them rarely saw each other.

There was only half a month left until fashion week.

Juno walked into her dorm room to find Claire staring at her with a thoroughly depressed expression.

Slipping off her jacket, Juno walked inside. "What's wrong?"

"Why are you always running out the door the second you have free time? Are you seeing a guy behind my back?"

Juno was barely on campus anymore.

At three o'clock, Claire reluctantly walked Juno to the waiting car.

How was she this busy?

Even the president probably had more free time!

The number of times they had gone shopping together could be counted on one hand.

Sigh... It's always the capable ones who end up doing all the work.

The car ride was entirely silent. Juno didn't bother asking questions about things that didn't interest her; she was just there to treat a patient and didn't need to know anything else.

The car pulled up to a sprawling mansion out in the suburbs. Margie led Juno through the main gates.

The estate was quiet. The staff moved about systematically, occasionally passing them in the halls.

A woman around Margie's age was waiting by the front door and hurried over as soon as they arrived.

"Thank you so much for coming." She spoke to Margie first, before turning to Juno with utmost respect. "My father truly isn't fit to travel, or else we would have come to you. I'm sorry for making you come all this way."

The woman didn't dismiss Juno because of her young age. Instead, she treated her with absolute respect, addressing her as an equal.

It was clear that she was a sensible and grounded person.

Juno always mirrored the respect she was given. She replied evenly, "It's not a problem."
