The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 193

The doctor clamped his mouth shut, looking utterly humiliated.

Jeremy stepped forward himself. Matilda was too old to be doing the heavy lifting, and God forbid she bumped into something and got hurt.

Without an ounce of patience, the usually refined Jeremy shoved the senior physician out of the way, forcefully clearing a path.

"Go on in, Juno. If we made a mistake, we'll own it. But if this wasn't our fault, we're going to have a very serious conversation about accountability."

He wasn't about to let just anyone use cheap tricks to exploit the Jagger and Corrington families.

No matter how furious Caelan was, he couldn't afford to throw a tantrum in front of them. The vein in his forehead throbbed. "So, you're dead set on running roughshod over my house today?"

Jeremy's expression was aggressively unapologetic. "Yep."

We're being unreasonable. What are you going to do about it?

Caelan was too angry to speak. He stalked off to the side, watching them with a dark, resentful glare.

Margie gently urged Juno, "Go in and take a look. If anything happens, we're right here to back you up."

"Okay."

Juno took two steps forward. Just as she was about to cross the threshold, she turned back, her icy gaze locking onto Moira. Her voice was hauntingly cold. "I'll ask you one last time. Did anyone tamper with my prescription?"

This was the final chance Juno was giving her.

Moira's pupils shrank. She was too terrified to make a sound.

The physician was terrified too. He quietly took a step back, trying to blend into the background.

He was desperately plotting an exit strategy. He wanted absolutely no part in this rich family crossfire.

Seeing Moira's reaction, Juno had her answer. She didn't waste another second on her and strode into the room to examine Alastair.

Before Caelan could even fully exhale, Kaelen casually remarked, "Don't relax just yet."

Sounding as if they were discussing the weather, Kaelen continued, "You'd better pray Juno doesn't find anything, Mr. Chadwick. If it turns out you're deliberately framing her... well, a paranoid guy like me might naturally assume you're trying to extort the Jagger family.

"Oh, and my family isn't exactly a small fish, but maybe you don't care about that. However, Juno is my sister's daughter, fully backed by the Corrington family. Compared to us, the Corringtons are an even bigger prize, wouldn't you say?"

Caelan gasped, a chill running down his spine. He forced a stiff smile. "You're joking, sir. I'd never dream of doing something like that. Please don't throw around baseless accusations."

Kaelen clearly didn't care about his answer. "Heh. You better hope so."

Just then, Juno made her move.

"Morgan," she called out.

The moment she spoke, the bedroom window flew open, and an incredibly elegant man vaulted into the room.
