The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 201

Juno remained completely unfazed, continuing to eat her popcorn without so much as a twitch.

The fighter on the stage was relentless. "What? Are you scared?"

"Yeah, I am," Juno replied.

She admitted it with absolute candor.

The fighter rolled his eyes, refusing to look at her anymore. He knew these rich kids from elite families were nothing but worthless amateurs anyway.

He readied himself for the next bout, and a second later, Juno watched Morgan's top assistant step into the ring representing the Jagger family.

Juno rubbed her chin. "What rank is she in the Obsidian Court again?"

A man of Morgan's status wouldn't keep dead weight around.

The woman looked familiar. The Obsidian Court held annual evaluations, and if Juno's memory served her right, this assistant was near the very top.

"Second."

First place was Morgan himself.

Morgan wouldn't tolerate anyone disrespecting Juno.

Juno knew exactly what was happening.

That guy in the ring was about to take the beating of his life.

Down in the stands, Jeremy Jagger narrowed his eyes, squinting at the distance. "Is she one of ours?"

Why hadn't he seen her before?

Did his older brother arrange this?

His bodyguard took a look and shook his head. "Never seen her."

Jeremy fell silent. After watching for a few moments, he realized this woman's combat skills were terrifyingly elite.

With skills like that, why would she settle for working under the Jagger family?

The cocky guy in the ring didn't even last three moves against Morgan's assistant.

The trajectory of the tournament was obvious from the start.

Juno hadn't been wrong; that guy was the weakest fighter in the entire venue.

He spent the whole opening match getting chased around and pummeled.

Juno clicked her tongue. "He's awful."

Jeremy looked at her. "If the Corrington family was involved in this, do you think things would be different today?"

Juno saw right through him. "So you do want to win."

Jeremy choked on his words.

He knew he couldn't hide anything from her; she always seemed to read him like an open book.

He did want to win. After all, the Jagger family had never managed to claim victory in this arena.

Juno had seen enough for the day, having thoroughly familiarized herself with the Talbot family's fighters.

Morgan sensed her itching to get involved and glanced back at her. "You're no match for the Talbot fighters."

The old Juno might have stood a chance, but ever since she soul-swapped into this new body, she had zero physical foundation. Using leverage and momentum to land a hit was her absolute limit.

Today's matches were brutal, head-to-head brawls. As things stood, Juno only had a thirty percent chance of winning.

Not to mention, this fragile body had suffered back-to-back injuries recently. Who knew if she was even fully healed?

"Tell me which one you want to fight," Morgan offered, "and I'll take them out for you."

Jeremy stared at them in disbelief. How could they talk about something so serious like they were picking out produce at the grocery store?
