The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 212

She had only glanced at it for a second when Balfour, eyes still closed, picked up the phone and held it out to her.

Caught off guard, Juno didn't take it right away. "Hm?" she asked, feigning confusion.

Keeping his eyes shut, his hand remained suspended in the air. "I have nothing to hide from you. The passcode is your birthday."

The implication was clear: look at whatever you want.

Juno stared at the easily acquired device, lost in thought.

When was Sylvie's birthday again?

She had been so focused on memorizing the relationship networks that she had completely forgotten to check the birthday.

Just then, Balfour opened his eyes and looked at her. He shook his head with a helpless smile. "I told you that you were clumsy. You can't even remember your own birthday."

He took the phone back and typed in the code.

Juno watched closely. 0520. What a coincidence. Sylvie's birthday was the exact same day as hers.

Completely defenseless around her, Balfour handed the phone back.

Then he closed his eyes again, his breathing gradually deepening. He was genuinely exhausted.

And he clearly enjoyed just being around her.

Taking advantage of the moment, Juno quickly scrolled through, hunting for any useful information.

Memorizing the critical details, she finally locked the screen.

Glancing back at Balfour, she saw he had fallen fast asleep.

In his slumber, he looked as innocent as a child.

Juno pulled out her own phone and texted Morgan.

Morgan's team was moving fast, executing everything with perfect precision.

By the time Balfour woke up, the dance studio was completely empty, and the sky outside had turned pitch black. He sat up from the sofa, the blanket slipping off him, leaving a chill on his shoulders.

The room was engulfed in darkness.

He reached for his phone, a bitter smile touching his lips.

Click.

The sound of a light switch flipping.

Balfour snapped his head toward the noise.

Juno stood there holding a takeout bag, the faint shapes of several food containers visible inside.

Balfour opened another bowl of soup and handed it to her. "You should eat something too."

"Yeah."

Juno was distracted, her mind miles away from the food.

It tasted like cardboard as she went through the motions of eating, treating it like a chore.

Morgan continued his report. "We searched the base. It definitely held the H315 antidote. Kian Zimmer is already running tests on it."

If it really was the cure, they needed to rush it straight back to Kingsland.

About half an hour later, Morgan confirmed it. "It's genuine. It's the antidote. I'm on my way to pick you up now."

For some reason, Morgan had a bad feeling about today. Whatever the case, they had to get out of Jindale City immediately.

Listening to him, Juno knew she had to reply. She stood up. "I'm going to the restroom."

Balfour, obediently eating his soup, didn't try to stop her. "Go ahead."

But just as she reached the door, his voice echoed behind her.

"Juno, buy me soup more often in the future."

She whipped her head around, her eyes instantly darkening with a lethal edge.
