The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 215

Gwendolyn sighed helplessly and closed her eyes. She knew it.

Field shot up from the sofa in sheer horror. "You—!"

Juno slipped the phone back into her pocket and stood up straight. "This has nothing to do with the Corrington family. I did this on my own. If you have demands, you bring them to me."

Field was practically dizzy with disbelief. "You're just a kid still wet behind the ears, yet you talk a big game. What could you possibly give me?"

"Anything you want."

Because Chuck was out of danger, Juno was actually in a fairly decent mood.

She was practically offering a blank check.

Field glanced over at the Corringtons. Not a single one of them had any intention of stepping in.

He let out a bitter scoff.

Fine. So this was how the Corringtons wanted to play it.

Knowing he wasn't going to squeeze anything out of the elders, Field decided not to waste any more time trading fake pleasantries with them.

He dropped all pretenses. "I want the plot of land in the eastern district."

That land was highly coveted by the Talbot family. They had originally planned to use the Corringtons to snatch it up, but looking at the current dynamic, that was clearly a pipe dream now.

"Done."

Juno could tell from his expression that he desperately wanted it, though he clearly didn't believe she could actually deliver. Still, she agreed without hesitation.

Field's face remained stormy. "And my family?"

Juno replied coolly, "You'll find them sitting safe and sound in your living room the moment you get back."

"Hmph."

Throwing down that final grunt, Field grabbed Sylvie and stormed out of the estate.

Sylvie's appearance today had left one primary impression on the Corringtons: graceful, delicate, softly spoken, with an unparalleled, fragile beauty.

Then they looked at Juno...

The entire family silently retracted their gaze.

Forget it. She was their kid. No matter what, they couldn't despise her.

Even if her posture was currently terrible.

Even if her actions were wild and entirely lawless.

Once the Sloanes were completely gone, Gwendolyn opened her eyes, leaning forward with a tone of helpless indulgence. "Why on earth did you kidnap the man's daughter?"

Juno stayed silent.

Gwendolyn understood. "If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine."

The Corrington family fortune should be deep enough to cover her messes.

He actually managed to pull it off.

Field glared right back, completely unfazed.

Let them be bitter!

It seemed clinging to the Corrington family was definitely the right move!

Meanwhile, Juno tossed her tablet onto the desk, no longer caring about the corporate drama in Jindale City.

The moment she pushed open her dorm room door, she was met with Claire Ashworth, hands raised mid-air and panting heavily.

"What's wrong?" Juno asked.

In the next second, Claire launched herself into Juno's arms. "Why didn't you tell me you were back?!"

She buried her face in Juno's shoulder. "I was worried sick!"

Juno's arms hovered awkwardly in the air, stiff as a board.

Claire pulled back, looking utterly indignant. "While you were gone, so many people were talking trash about you."

"Saying what?"

Claire didn't sugarcoat it. "They're saying you're sleeping with the advisor. That you've probably already hooked up off-campus, which is why you got perfect scores in every subject. Basically, they're spreading the nastiest rumors imaginable."

Claire rattled off the details like a machine gun.
