The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 233

That shut the crowd up immediately. They shrank back in their seats, too afraid to even breathe too loudly.

The young waiter added, "Ladies and gentlemen, you follow the rules of the house you're in. I don't care how important you are out there, if you act out of line in here, don't expect us to play nice."

It was a clear, unmistakable threat.

With that, the waiter turned on his heel and went back to work.

It seemed these so-called elites were nothing special after all. High status clearly didn't guarantee good character.

Belinda tried to act like she didn't care, but she couldn't even force a smile.

She was the clown in this situation.

She absolutely hated this place.

Her brother took one look at her and knew exactly what she was thinking. "If you don't have to make enemies, don't. Do you know why people still flock to this restaurant even when the staff acts like they're above God?"

Belinda couldn't wrap her head around it. "Why? Because they enjoy being humiliated?"

Her brother shook his head. "Of course not. It's because once you step foot in this restaurant, no matter what you've done outside, no one dares to touch you."

People didn't just come here to flex their status; they came for the absolute protection the Pinnacle provided.

"You're joking," Belinda scoffed. "It's just a restaurant. It's not magic."

Her brother just smiled and shook his head, knowing she wouldn't believe him.

Words were useless; you had to see it to believe it.

The food was rustic yet exquisitely plated, an absolute explosion of flavor that overwhelmed the senses.

Every bite was met with gasps of delight.

The taste was genuinely mind-blowing.

After finishing her meal, Rhiannon was completely sold. She wanted to poach the chef, no matter the cost.

She set down her silverware and looked at her mother earnestly. "Mom, we have to hire the chef here."

The food was just too incredible.

This might be her last time ever stepping foot in this place, and the thought of never eating this food again was unbearable.

Melba Ziegler spoiled her daughter rotten. In Rhiannon's world, she felt she had arrived twenty years too late, so she was determined to give the girl anything she asked for.

"I'll go check the kitchen in a bit and get this chef for you, honey."

Rhiannon was touched, feeling more and more like Melba truly cared for her.

As soon as Melba said it, she distinctly saw a flash of confusion cross the young man's face.

"What's wrong? Is it off-limits?" she demanded.

Louis replied gently, "No."

He started leading the way. "Why do you need to go to the kitchen?"

Melba crossed her arms, a defensive posture that signaled immediate hostility. "I'm looking for the chef."

Louis was bewildered. "Looking for the chef?"

Melba wondered why this frail guy was asking so many useless questions. Couldn't he just lead the way in silence?

She gave an impatient hum. "His name is Louis."

She had overheard the name from the elite guests outside before they came in.

Louis abruptly stopped walking, causing Melba to halt as well. "Now what?"

Louis looked at her seriously. "You don't need to go to the kitchen. I'm right here. What do you need?"

Melba's posture shifted immediately, dropping her arms. She took a step closer, her eyes gleaming with predatory excitement. "Seriously?"
