Morgan stared her down. "How exactly did you think you could recruit him with a five-star hotel position?"
That one sentence utterly crushed Melba.
Morgan was usually known for his refined and easygoing demeanor, but his tone was heavy with authority now.
He was genuinely furious.
Within the Obsidian Court, aside from Juno, Morgan was Louis's closest friend.
"Throw her out!"
When Morgan said 'throw out', he meant it literally.
Melba had officially crossed the Obsidian Court.
As the two guards hoisted her into the air, Melba shrieked, "What gives you the right?! Is there no order here?! Are there no laws?!"
"In here, we are the order. We are the law."
The guards, annoyed by her screaming, slapped a piece of tape over her mouth and dragged her away.
For the rest of the afternoon, Rhiannon couldn't find Melba anywhere.
After the meal, everyone left the restaurant and returned to the Yates estate.
The afternoon schedule was packed. First up was the shooting range.
Juno had barely stepped out of the car when Belinda strutted over. "Heading to the range, Ms. Mercer? You're good in a fight, so I assume your marksmanship is just as impressive."
Rhiannon had mysteriously appeared next to Belinda. "Ms. Russell came all the way over to ask. You wouldn't be so rude as to decline, would you?"
Juno glanced at her. "Seeing how much free time you have, I take it you found your mother."
Rhiannon froze.
How did Juno know Melba was missing?
Did she have something to do with it?
The thought flashed through Rhiannon's mind instantly.
Juno smirked. "Don't look at me like that. What if I actually did have something to do with it?"
Belinda's lackeys formed a circle, boxing Juno in.
Absolutely not.
The man snapped his mouth shut.
Belinda saw Chuck and tried to force a smile, but Chuck's dark eyes were murderous. "If she wants to go, she'll go. Who the hell do you think you are? What, are you going to drag her there by force?"
Everyone instinctively looked at Belinda.
Her face was a spectacular mix of green and white.
Juno grabbed Chuck's arm, smiling lightly. "I'm bored anyway. Let's go take a look."
If these people didn't have her to bother, they'd have no purpose in life.
Chuck's face was dark as he followed Juno to the shooting range.
Belinda glared at their retreating backs with pure jealousy, grinding her teeth. She turned to Rhiannon. "Are you absolutely sure she doesn't know how to shoot?"
She didn't look like an amateur.
Rhiannon nodded confidently. "I'm positive. I swear on my life. She grew up in the country; she never had access to that kind of stuff. And since she got back to the Corrington family, they've babied her. They would never let her touch anything dangerous."
