The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 260

The forum concluded two hours later.

By the time it was over, Rhiannon had gone completely numb waiting outside.

Following the event, the VIPs headed to the Concordance Hall for a private dinner.

Since the chef was Louis, the table where Juno was seated featured an absurd mountain of premium seafood, heavily favoring shrimp.

Lucia sipped her tea, watching Morgan and Chuck meticulously peel shrimp for Juno.

She let out a heavy sigh. Wherever Juno was, Lucia never got to eat any shrimp.

Was Juno starved of seafood in her past life or something???

Just as she was feeling thoroughly sorry for herself, Juno slid a small plate of perfectly peeled shrimp toward her.

Lucia followed the hand up to Juno's face. Juno spoke with a completely deadpan expression, "I can't finish it. Have some."

For a fleeting second, Lucia genuinely wondered if Juno was capable of telepathy.

Tch.

Lucia pushed the plate back. "No thanks. I don't even like this stuff."

It wasn't like everyone enjoyed seafood.

Since Lucia rejected it, Morgan smoothly snatched the plate back and placed it right in front of Juno.

Lucia let out a long, exaggerated exhale.

Whatever. Juno had suffered enough in her past; she deserved to be totally spoiled now.

Lucia decided she wouldn't hold it against her.

The dinner wrapped up quickly.

The two mayors personally escorted the elite billionaires out.

As Juno climbed into her car, she noticed Lucia practically glued to her shadow.

She slid into the backseat and glanced back at Lucia. "Why are you following me? Aren't you flying back to Blackwood City?"

A trace of awkwardness flitted across Lucia's pale face. "I don't want to go back just yet."

Juno raised an eyebrow. "And?"

"I want to hang around here for a bit."

Before Juno could even object, Lucia darted into the car with athletic precision, shoving her way inside to avoid being left on the pavement.

Lucia squeezed her eyes shut, entirely ignoring whatever expression Juno was making, and barked at the driver, "Drive!"

The driver didn't dare hesitate and hit the gas.

Now Lucia was comfortable.

Juno had the driver drop Lucia off at an apartment in the city center first.

The moment Lucia stepped inside, she was thoroughly disgusted.

How was anyone supposed to survive in a space this tiny without suffocating?

Noticing clear signs of multiple people living there, she asked Juno, "Who exactly stays here?"

Before she could protest, he practically dragged her into the car. Morgan was a second too late—by the time he stepped outside, Juno's car was already speeding off.

Morgan's grip tightened on his cane. "Have people follow them."

Juno had just exposed her identity as the ruler of the Obsidian Court at the forum. God only knew how many eyes were watching her from the shadows. They couldn't afford a single mistake right now.

Just having Jett in the dark wasn't enough.

Ten minutes later, Miles dragged Juno to the door of a presidential suite and shoved a keycard into her hand without any further explanation.

"There might be a strange woman inside. It's not appropriate for me to go in. Could you go check it out first?"

Juno had no idea what kind of idiotic scheme Miles was trying to pull, but she swiped the card and pushed the door open.

Seeing her walk in, Miles let out a massive sigh of relief.

Mission accomplished.

Juno stepped into the suite. The evening glow spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the room perfectly.

As she walked deeper inside, she clearly heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.

She approached the door and pushed it open.

The room was thick with steam. Just as she squinted to see through the haze, a powerful arm reached out from the mist and violently yanked her inside.

Her vision blurred for a second. When her eyes finally focused, Chuck was standing right in front of her, completely naked. Warm water cascaded down from the showerhead, instantly soaking her clothes and leaving nothing of her gorgeous curves to the imagination.

He slammed her firmly against the tiled wall.

The temperature in the room instantly skyrocketed.
