The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 261

Water blurred her vision, drops sliding off her long lashes.

Her wrists were pinned by Chuck.

In the next second, he secured both her hands above her head with one grip, using his free hand to grab her waist and pull her flush against him.

Behind her was the freezing tile; against her front, scorching heat.

"Chuck..."

Before she could finish, he leaned in and silenced her with a kiss.

Gradually, the atmosphere shifted.

His hands roamed upward, pulling up her shirt.

Their lips tangled. Chuck released her wrists and firmly hoisted her up. Juno wrapped her arms around his neck, looking down to meet his kiss.

The warm water cascading over them felt electric, sending a strange, thrilling sensation through her body.

Chuck undid her buttons with one hand, his movements entirely too practiced.

Those long, elegant fingers doing such a thing were dangerously distracting.

Pinning her against the wall as he held her, Chuck briefly pulled back to coax, "Stop being mad at me, okay?"

Juno's narrow eyes were misty, her breathing erratic. "I..."

Before she could voice a rejection, Chuck was kissing her again.

Her brain completely short-circuited.

When his hand found a soft curve, Juno's mind went entirely hazy.

The bathroom filled with thick steam.

Two silhouettes became hopelessly entangled.

By the time they emerged, an hour had passed.

Chuck, now in loungewear, had wrapped Juno in a large bath towel. He carried her out, set her on the bed, and turned to grab the hairdryer.

Juno just sat there, dazed.

He returned, sitting behind her to dry her hair with gentle, meticulous strokes, making sure every strand was perfect.

Juno's voice was hoarse. "I never said I forgave you."

Chuck gave a soft, indulgent smile. "I know."

"Bullshit!"

Harrison and Gwendolyn sat right in the middle, looking like they wanted the ground to swallow them whole as they watched the grandmothers fight.

It was giving them a migraine.

When was Juno going to get back?

Looking up, they suddenly realized Juno was already standing in the doorway. By the looks of it, she had been watching for quite a while.

The arguing abruptly stopped. After a brief stunned silence, the two elderly women immediately got up and hurried toward Juno with their canes.

Harrison and Gwendolyn exhaled in unison.

She was finally home. Otherwise, there was no telling how long the yelling would last.

"Juno, you're back!" they chorused together.

Juno walked over, supporting each of them with one arm. "I'm back. What are you two doing here so late?"

She was perfectly diplomatic.

Under her soothing presence, they both sat down on the sofa.
