The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 262

The two of them grumbled but reluctantly sat next to each other.

"Stay with me for a couple of days, sweetie. My huge house feels so empty."

"No, come stay with me. I'm going to take you to a concert."

It only took two sentences for them to start bickering again.

"A concert?! With your fragile bones? You'll get trampled to death!"

"???"

Harrison and Gwendolyn's momentary relief vanished instantly.

Please, stop arguing.

Juno stood up. "I'll go get you both some water."

But the moment she got to her feet, her vision went black, and she collapsed.

Her body went rigid as she hit the floor, motionless.

"Juno!!!"

"Juno!!!"

The aggressively arguing grandmothers practically lunged forward, nearly throwing out their backs in the process.

All the color drained from Juno's face in an instant. She lay there perfectly still, unresponsive to everything.

She looked dead.

Gwendolyn's heart leaped into her throat. She grabbed Juno's wrist—no pulse.

Tears instantly welled in her eyes. In disbelief, she pressed her ear to Juno's chest, desperate for a heartbeat. But there was nothing. "Juno... I can't hear a heartbeat."

The two older women panicked, nearly fainting from the shock.

How did this suddenly happen?!

Harrison scrambled to get Juno's phone. Thankfully, she didn't have a habit of locking it, so there was no passcode.

He went straight to her contacts, found Kian Zimmer, and dialed.

It connected in two seconds. The voice on the other end sounded confused. "Why are you calling me at this hour?"

Harrison quickly explained the situation in just a few words.

It was incredibly late, and the Corrington house was the only one in the neighborhood still completely lit up.

The entire family was gathered around, pacing anxiously. When Kian arrived, they looked at him like a savior.

After his examination, Kian's usually playful expression froze over.

The family's hearts dropped.

Kian looked back at Morgan. "I can't find the cause."

Morgan's expression darkened completely.

At 3 AM, Lucia Corbett was awakened by the aggressive buzzing of her phone. Suppressing the urge to smash the device against the wall, she turned on the lamp, sat up, and answered.

"What?" she snapped, her tone deadly.

Whatever the person on the other end said, Lucia lost her mind. "What happened to Juno now??!"

Dear God, give the girl a break.

Why was she always dealing with disasters?
