It was an undeniably tempting offer.
Especially since they were currently entirely out of options.
Kian had run out of ideas and couldn't find a single breakthrough.
"Absolutely not," Chuck rejected immediately.
Handing Juno over meant she would be subjected to God knows what kind of horrific experiments.
The man's expression didn't change. "She isn't receiving any viable treatment here. Aren't you terrified she might never wake up?"
Chuck's sharp jawline tightened, casting a dark shadow over his profile. "Bring your team here. Treat her at The Imperium."
"I'm afraid your facilities won't have the necessary equipment compared to our Institute."
"Then bring the equipment with you."
The negotiator was stunned into silence.
Finally, he gave a polite nod. "I will discuss this with my superiors."
"Give me an answer by this afternoon, or I'm blowing your entire Institute to pieces."
The negotiator paused mid-step. With just a few words, the power dynamic had entirely shifted. Chuck was truly a terrifying opponent.
Ultimately, the Institute agreed to treat Juno at The Imperium.
Everyone involved knew perfectly well that the researchers weren't just trying to save her—they wanted to extract biological data.
But right now, there was no other choice.
That night, highly classified equipment was transported to a discreet laboratory on the outskirts of The Imperium.
The team of Institute doctors were all remarkably young, each carrying identical silver briefcases.
Twenty of them stood by, watching The Imperium's men haul the heavy machinery inside.
By the time everything was fully installed, the sun was already coming up.
Juno was transferred to the medical bay—a completely sealed, windowless vault lined with steel where everything in sight was stark white.
She lay silently on the examination table, just as she had for the last three days.
As the procedures began, Kian stood right in the middle of it all, demanding that everything go through his approval first.
Additionally, The Imperium had covertly gathered renowned specialists from around the globe, all currently stationed in the medical bay.
With twenty Institute doctors, Kian, and his assistants sealed inside, hours passed without a single update.
Within the room, heavy arguments were already breaking out.
"Mr. Yates personally approved this procedure. You are actively hindering our progress," one researcher snapped.
Kian stood with his hands buried in the pockets of his lab coat, absolutely refusing to back down. "How exactly am I hindering you?"
Realizing they were entirely at his mercy, they eventually had to concede. Whatever Kian said, went.
However, they severely underestimated how obnoxious Kian could be.
Throughout the process, Kian's voice echoed relentlessly.
"Why are you preparing a defibrillator?"
"If this is soul transmigration, why do you need a blood sample?"
"That stimulant is far too aggressive; her body won't respond to it anyway."
"Do you actually know how to practice medicine, or are you just trying to dissect her secrets?"
With Kian breathing down their necks, they could barely function.
Hours had passed, and they had accomplished absolutely nothing.
But what could they do?
They just had to suffer through it.
After five agonizing hours, Kian watched them attach a myriad of sensors to Juno. Complex biometric data flooded the monitors.
But the result was exactly as expected—there was zero indication she was going to wake up.
