The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 275

Sebastian vaulted down the stairs, jumped into his car, and sped straight to the advisor's office.

He threw the car in park and practically sprinted into the building toward the elevator.

Passersby turned their heads in confusion.

Wasn't that Professor Corrington?

He was normally so calm and collected. What on earth had him so frantic today?

Sebastian charged straight for the office. Forgetting every ounce of his usual refined manners, he didn't even bother knocking before throwing the door open.

One look told him exactly what was going on.

Juno was slouched on the sofa like a mob boss. Blood dripped from her temple, painting the entire left side of her face a horrifying red. Yet there she sat, legs crossed, casually resting one hand on a metal bat planted against the floor, her expression glacial and deadly.

Opposite her sat the thug girl, her face twisted in absolute agony.

Sebastian barely spared the other girl a glance. He hurriedly pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and dropped to one knee in front of Juno, staring anxiously at her bleeding head. "How did this happen?"

Juno snatched the cloth to press against her wound herself. She leveled the tip of the bat at the thug and said coolly to Sebastian, "She hit me."

Sebastian met Juno's eyes, then shot a lethal glare at the girl on the other end of the bat, ready to rip her apart.

Without even blinking, Juno added nonchalantly, "But it's fine. I broke her leg."

She had more than evened the score.

She said it as casually as if she were talking about buying groceries.

Like snapping a bone was no big deal.

Sebastian exhaled deeply. "As long as you didn't let them walk all over you."

The thug girl: ?

Refusing to back down, the thug shouted, "You owe us money! You can't pay, so you resort to assault?!"

Juno shot back, "Are you brain-dead? Open your damn eyes and see who actually owes you. Don't try pinning her shit on me."

"You two are friends!" the thug protested. "If she can't pay, what am I supposed to do?"

Was she supposed to just swallow the loss of all that cash?

She sounded completely righteous, like she had done them a massive favor.

The advisor forced a deeply awkward smile.

Framed like that, it sounded like he should be thanking her.

"Right, right, of course," the advisor appeased.

"These girls don't even go to this school," Juno pointed out. "They were causing trouble at Northbridge, and I stopped them. Am I in the wrong?"

The question pinned the advisor directly to the wall.

"No, you're not," the advisor admitted.

In just a few sentences, she had seamlessly shifted every ounce of blame onto the thugs.

Juno suddenly smiled, the picture of perfect politeness. "Great. Then we won't take up any more of your time."

Before walking out, she casually tossed the bat down right in front of the thug girl. The sharp clang of metal hitting the floor made the thug violently flinch.
