She watched Juno walk away with absolute terror in her eyes.
After Juno stepped out, Sebastian paused at the door. The face that was always so incredibly gentle toward his sister now twisted into something utterly vicious as he glared at the thugs. "Don't even think about running, any of you."
They were adults; it was time they faced the consequences of their actions.
Shayla stared, dumbfounded. That was it? The problem was just solved?
"Come on," Sebastian said. "Let's hit the campus infirmary."
Juno waved him off. "No need. I have things to do. Go back to work."
Sebastian stared at her, deadpan. "You're going to go 'do things' with a face covered in blood? Your head is still actively bleeding."
She was going to give half the campus a heart attack looking like that.
Juno seemed to suddenly remember she had a massive gash on her head. "It's fine. I'll handle it myself."
He looked at her with deep anxiety. There was no way he felt comfortable letting her wander around like this.
Juno, already tired of telling him to leave, sighed. "Just go. Seriously, don't worry about me."
So now he, the older brother, was being actively discarded.
"Fine. I'll leave you to it. Just come home tonight."
"Yeah."
Juno walked away under Sebastian's watchful eye.
As she walked, she dialed Morgan's number.
He picked up almost instantly, his tone laced with absolute revulsion. "Why do you keep calling me?!"
Calling just to get him to hack her grades?
She was completely useless!
Juno, having just been screamed at without saying a word, paused. "Have you lost your mind?"
Silence instantly fell over the line. After a long, agonizing pause, a trembling voice whispered, "LORD?"
"Mm-hmm?"
She patted his back, soothing him like a child. "I'm back. It's okay now."
She wasn't going to vanish on them again.
Morgan had slightly lost his composure, but just getting a simple hug from Juno grounded him. He was completely satisfied.
He picked up his cane and stepped back.
That finally gave Kian a chance to speak. He gestured for Juno to sit on the examination table so he could stitch her up.
A moment later, every single researcher from the facility was dragged into the room.
Juno sat casually, legs parted in a relaxed, unapologetically dominant posture, letting Kian do whatever he needed to do to her scalp.
The group of researchers were lined up in a neat row.
The sheer, terrifying aura radiating from Juno ensured that none of them dared to make a sound.
Beside her sat a mysterious metal case. A stack of files rested on her lap. Her dark, fathomless eyes slowly swept over the twenty people standing before her.
