"Like putting two holes in your legs."
As the words left her mouth, she smoothly drew a gun from her waist. Her hand was dead steady as she fired twice directly into the old man's legs.
*Bang! Bang!*
Two bloody holes instantly bloomed on Earle's thighs.
"Ahhhhhhhh!!!"
At his advanced age, there was no way he could handle that kind of excruciating pain.
Juno walked over. Ryker stepped forward and injected a fast-acting anesthetic into the old man's leg.
It obviously didn't do much.
Juno was just going through the motions anyway; she never expected the anesthetic to be of any real comfort.
"I might be an orphan with no proper upbringing, and I certainly don't care about respecting my elders. All I know is that if someone messes with me, I pay them back immediately."
Hatred might fade with time, but when it came to revenge, Juno never delayed.
Quick and decisive—that was her style.
She propped one boot onto the sofa beside the old man, resting her left hand holding the gun casually against her knee. She looked down at him writhing in agony, feeling absolutely nothing.
"Old man, Chuck is an illegitimate son. No matter what, he's always on guard around the Yates family. The only person who could get him to willingly ingest something spiked was his mother.
You are truly disgusting. I thought I lacked a bottom line, but you're worse. Exploiting a child's most vulnerable, sacred emotional anchor... you really have no shame."
The pain was unbearable for Earle. Within moments, he was drenched in cold sweat.
"Since it's the holidays, I'll be generous and let you go home to celebrate. After the break, if I still remember you, we'll settle the rest of our score. If I forget, you better get down on your knees and thank whatever higher power you pray to."
