Sebastian was completely losing his patience listening to this.
How did they end up with such disgusting relatives?
Juno casually picked up a brick from the ground and abruptly smashed it right into the thug's face.
The loan shark was knocked backward, blood instantly gushing from his nose. He wiped his face and looked at his bloody hand.
"Beat her!!"
"I'd like to see you try!"
Everyone turned to look as Claud strolled over from behind with a group of his men.
The moment Claud stepped up, the thugs froze, completely terrified.
Claud had been a notoriously ruthless boss before he started following Juno and reined it in.
"Boss Claud... you..."
Claud ignored him and turned to Juno. "Go about your business, Ms. Mercer. I'll handle things here."
"Alright."
Juno left without a second thought. Morgan had pulled the car up about fifty feet away.
She turned back to Sebastian. "I don't think we'll be having that lunch today."
Sebastian nodded. "Go take care of your business."
"Will do."
Seeing Juno trying to leave, Aunt Cynthia refused to let it go. She lunged forward and grabbed Juno tightly. "You're not going anywhere!! You haven't agreed to my demands yet! You can't leave until you say yes!"
Juno grabbed Aunt Cynthia by the throat and yanked her close. "Be smart. Get the hell out of my face before I decide to really hurt you!"
She forcefully threw Aunt Cynthia aside and strode away.
Juno took the car straight to LK's headquarters.
Morgan followed her into the building, their path completely unobstructed.
After Juno got in the elevator, a few employees huddled together to gossip.
"It's rare to see Ms. Mercer this angry."
"Right? Even when her aunt came to make a scene last time, she wasn't this furious."
Juno looked up, her dark eyes flashing with a barely contained fury.
Caleb froze, completely clueless as to why she was so mad.
A wave of anxiety washed over him.
The accountants suddenly stopped flipping pages. One of them held up a ledger for Juno to see. "There are exactly five million dollars unaccounted for."
They found it.
Juno stared dead at Caleb in his expensive suit. Her voice was freezing cold. "Care to explain?"
The two accountants tactfully excused themselves, pulling the door shut behind them.
Caleb panicked. "Juno... I... I had a reason."
"What possible reason justifies embezzling company funds?!"
Juno violently hurled the ledger right at his feet.
Caleb picked it up, his hands trembling. "I didn't have a choice! Aunt Cynthia found out I was working for the Corrington family and brought my dad to the office. We're family! If I didn't help them out, I'd be no better than an animal..."
The veins at Juno's temples throbbed. "So that gave you the right to steal company money?!"
