Zane acted as if Fiona wasn’t even there. Without looking away from Claire, he handed her a ripe fruit.

“Claire, if an annoying fly keeps buzzing in your ear, would you want to kill it?”

Claire almost laughed. Since when had Zane learned to be sarcastic? But honestly? It felt great.

Fiona’s face darkened with anger.

Claire played along.

“Not just kill it. I’d grind it to dust, so it could never come back to disgust people again.”

Fiona’s calm expression vanished. She sprang up from the table.

“You-!”

Her chest heaved violently, making the surrounding males swallow hard.

Before Fiona could hurl another insult at Claire and Zane, a giant panda suddenly lunged out from behind Claire and knocked her to the ground with a paw.

“You smell awful!” Marcus said, covering his nose with a paw, looking utterly disgusted.

“Claire told me all about you before. I was so mad I couldn’t eat for three days. If you say one more disrespectful word to her, I won’t hesitate to beat you so badly you’ll be bedridden for three days!”
