She gently touched her belly and said softly. “The beastlings are kicking! Kids, hang in there a few more days. Let Mommy see if she can find a way to escape.”

Jeffrey had once said he would kill the beastlings in her womb. She didn’t dare take that risk. She had to escape, even if it meant dying!

By evening, Eira had brought her some food.
