“So this is really just treating the symptoms, not the root cause. It’ll make your hair grow back, but it won’t actually fix why you’re going bald in the first place. Even if your hair grows back thick and full, if you keep pulling all–nighters like this, you’ll definitely go bald again.”
The pink–haired girl looked completely bewildered.
What was the difference?
As long as she could grow her hair back, that was all that mattered.
Who cared about treating symptoms versus root causes?
She had tried so many hair growth products before, and none of them did a damn thing.
Scarlett continued, “You have a hair–loss–prone constitution. It’s basically a genetic thing. It’s in your DNA. Late nights and bad sleep habits will make you lose hair.
“Some people don’t have that kind of constitution, so even if they stay up late, their hair is fine.
“I do have a remedy that can temporarily help you fix your sleep schedule. Take it after dinner, and you’ll get drowsy. After two weeks of treatment, your sleep cycle will reset. But again, that’s just treating the
symptoms.
“Because at the end of the day, it’s still medication. You can’t take it long–term. Unless you develop good sleep habits on your own.”
Put simply, staying up late was like any other addiction.
Medication could help you in the beginning, but later on, it was all up to you.
Any pharmaceutical aid was only treating symptoms, not the root cause.
The pink–haired girl’s name was Eva Navarro,
She had just turned 20 this year.
She was one year older than Alex.
The two of them had known each other since they were 12 or 13.
They hadn’t become friends because their families were of equal status.
Eva’s family background was actually very poor. In the eyes of wealthy families like the Quinns, Eva’s family was basically dirt poor.
And that was the truth.
Eva’s parents were both ordinary office workers in Maswein.
Their combined salaries came out to maybe 7,000 dollars a month.

They lived in a rundown little two–bedroom apartment, paying off the mortgage every month while raising a kid.
Eva’s parents had personalities similar to many ordinary parents. A bit impatient, not the best tempers.
Even though Eva was their only daughter, she had been mischievous since she was little, so she often got yelled at or smacked by her parents.
By middle school, Eva wasn’t studying properly anymore.
Her grades were terrible.
Her parents had no idea what to do with her.
She met Alex in middle school.
One day, Eva had snuck out of school to goof off and happened to run into Alex and his boys in a fight.
The guy getting beat up was someone she knew from her school.
So she went ahead and called the cops.
Afterward, Alex tracked Eva down.
Eva asked him what he wanted.
Did he think he was in the right for beating someone up?
That incident was how they met.
You could say they became friends through conflict.
Eventually, they became close.
After graduating middle school, Eva was only 15. She had no talent for academics, so she started messing around with social media. She designed some clothes herself, made her own patterns, sewed samples, tried them on, and took photos.
To her surprise, it actually took off. People online loved her stuff, so she dropped out of school entirely and started making clothes full–time. Eventually, she even launched her own small brand.
She opened an online store, and now she easily makes tens of millions of dollars a year.
She never went back to school after that.
In Eva’s own words, she just wasn’t cut out for academics.
She liked making money.
Now that she had money, her parents treated her well and didn’t care whether she went to school or not..
After all, the whole point of school was to have better opportunities and a better life later on.

Scarlett knew that Eva was the type who was destined to be wealthy.
No matter what she did, she would find it relatively easy to make money.
She might not become ultra–rich or part of the elite, but being comfortably well–off was no problem for her.
Eva completely ignored Scarlett’s explanation about her genetic predisposition to hair loss. All she heard was that her hair could grow back.
She asked hesitantly, “You can really make my hair grow back?”
Scarlett saw that her focus was a bit off and nodded with a hint of resignation.
“Yes. In a few days, I’ll prepare some hair growth serum and sell it in my online store. You can buy some and try it out.”
Hair growth serum and skin renewal cream weren’t really medications. They fell under the category of cosmeceuticals, which required quality testing and quite a bit of paperwork to get approved.
Eva nodded. “Alright, let’s add each other. When your store opens, I’ll go buy some and give it a try.”
She wasn’t holding out much hope.
