Chapter 188 Bad Premonition
After saying goodbye to the woman, Hazel headed back to the front of the school.
Sure enough, her luck really had gotten better.
After she returned, she went straight to Brianna.
Brianna, I won’t be staying here with you guys tonight. I was walking around town earlier and happened
o run into a woman…”
She quickly explained what had happened.
3rianna was practically green with envy.
Hazel, can you ask on behalf of Zayden, too? Like … does that ma’am still need people? Or does she know nyone else in town who needs help? Zayden and I can both work.”
she really didn’t want to stay here getting fed to mosquitoes anymore.
Hazel nodded. “Don’t worry, Brianna. Once I get there, I’ll ask her for you.”
After that, Hazel went back into the classroom to pack.
She stuffed everything away, then dragged her luggage out–only to see Scarlett still teaching Ena. Hazel walked up to Ena.
Ena, goodbye. I won’t be living here for the next few days. But don’t worry–I promised to donate and I will. When the time comes, I’ll send the money directly to your school. You can rest easy.”
Ena nodded. “Okay. Thank you, Hazel. Goodbye, and take care.”
Scarlett lifted her head and glanced at Hazel.
After one look at Hazel’s physiognomy, she clicked her tongue,
Hazel heard it clearly.
She put on a wounded expression. “Scarlett, what’s that tone for?”
Her cheek still throbbed with lingering pain.
And deep down, she hated Scarlett to the bone. She wanted to trip her up one last time before leaving.
Hazel’s tone made Scarlett’s knuckles itch.
“Don’t talk to me like that. Keep it up, and I’ll give you another punch.”
Hazel immediately pressed a hand to her cheek.
It still hurt like hell.

But when she said it out loud, no one believed her.

Hazel took two steps back to keep her distance, making sure she could bolt if she had to before speaking again.
“Scarlett, are you jealous because people here like me more? That ma’am’s son is my fan, so when she heard I’m filming in town, she was willing to take me in and let me work at her house.”
“Scarlett, are you just jealous because the locals like me more? That woman’s son is a fan of mine, which is why she’s letting me stay. You really should stop being so abrasive. This ‘tough‘ persona might be trendy and pull in fans for now, but eventually, people will grow tired of someone with no class.”
Scarlett’s expression turned odd.
Then, she actually arched an eyebrow and smirked.
“I just hope that in a few days, you’ll still have the energy to pull this ‘pick–me‘ routine.”
Hazel bit her lip.
“Scarlett, you should fix your personality.”
With that, she shoved her two suitcases forward and hurried off–like if she slowed down for even a second, Scarlett would leap up and hit her.
Scarlett watched Hazel leave.
Yes–Hazel’s luck had improved.
But what came with luck wasn’t always a good thing.
Scarlett didn’t bother with Hazel after that.
Even if Hazel died in this town, it had nothing to do with her.
Selina seemed to sense that something was about to happen.
She leaned in close and whispered, “Scarlett … is something going to happen to Hazel?”
That click of the tongue had been way too obvious.
Scarlett leaned over and murmured a few words into Selina’s ear.
Selina’s eyes went wide. She slapped a hand over her mouth, stunned, and stared after Hazel as she lett
Nelson, Adam, and even Simon were instantly restless.
What did they say? What was it?
The livestream chat almost exploded.
[No–what are you two whispering about?! Can’t you say it out loud so we can all hear?! I’m dying here!!!]

[Yeah! Say it so we can all hear–why are you being so mysterious?!]
[It has to be about Hazel.]
[Is something going to happen to Hazel? Scarlett clicked her tongue after studying her face.]
[She won’t get into trouble, right?

[She’s not going alone–there are crew members with her. Even if she stays at a local’s place, the staff will be right there. It should be fine.]
[Scarlett, Selina–talk louder! Just a little louder!]
[We’ll know in a few days. Didn’t Scarlett say, “I just hope that in a few days, you’ll still have the energy to pull this ‘pick–me‘ routine.“?]
In the end, Nelson and Adam couldn’t stand it anymore.
They cornered Selina and asked. After Selina got Scarlett’s permission, she told them what Scarlett had whispered.
Even Simon couldn’t help leaning in to listen. A second later, the three of them wore the exact same expression Selina had earlier.
The crew in the distance looked like they were dying inside. What did they say? Couldn’t you guys share it
with us?
The livestream was howling.
Scarlett didn’t care what would happen to Hazel at the local’s house.
She didn’t care how hard the livestream viewers begged.
She simply called Ena over.
“Ena. Come here. We’re continuing.”
Ena’s dad hadn’t come looking for her for two days.
As soon as she heard Scarlett’s voice, Ena nodded quickly.
“Okay, Scarlett.”
