Chapter 23 Unbelievable Story
What happened next stunned them.
At the moment their legs collided, the man flew backward several feet and clutching his leg and screaming.
His calf twisted at an unnatural angle. It was clearly broken.
Cold sweat poured down his forehead as he stared at Scarlett in terror.
Some viewers in the live chat sent blank–face emojis.
“I’m… so confused right now.”
“What the actual hell just happened?”
“I feel like I’m dreaming.”
Scarlett stared down at him with icy eyes.

d to the floor.
“What? Did you really think every woman is weak and yours to hurt as you please? Never thought you’d be the one kicked across the room by a ‘weak‘ woman one day?”
She turned away from him and looked at the crew. “Please keep an eye on him. It’d be best if you could find some rope and tie him up.”
The three camera operators were still in shock.
They moved on instinct, doing whatever she told them to do.
Once she’d finished, Scarlett followed the scent of blood down the hallway to the bedroom.
She pushed open the door.
A girl with shoulder–length hair lay on the floor. Her face was ghost–white, her mouth sealed with tape, and her eyes unfocused. Her body was covered in more than ten cuts. The dried, blackish blood on the floor stank in the heat.
The girl stared at Scarlett, a flicker of hope rising in her gaze.
Had someone really come to save her?
Or was this just a hallucination before she died?
Scarlett hurried over and peeled the tape from her mouth.

She said softly, “Don’t be afraid. It’s over.”
The camera was pointed straight toward the bedroom doorway.
“Oh my god, did he really kidnap another girl? Is she the owner of the
ap
t?”
“No wonder Scarlett called the police right away.”
“This is terrifying. Look at the floor, it’s covered in dried blood, and her whole body is cut up.”
“The bedroom door is closed from the inside. You can’t see any of this from the front door–so how did Scarlett realize something was wrong? How did she know the owner was tied up inside?”
Scarlett helped the girl sit on the bed and brought her a glass of water.
The girl clutched Scarlett’s arm with trembling hands and her whole body shaking.
Scarlett soothed her quietly, then dialed emergency services.
Out in the living room, the camera crew had already tied up the man as best they could.
About twenty minutes later, the police finally arrived.
It was only the local patrol unit responsible for neighborhood security.
Even they were stunned by what they walked into.
For now, all they could do was take everyone back to the station.
An ambulance arrived as well. One officer rode along with the girl to the Spital.
The man, with both arms dislocated and one leg broken, was also loaded into the ambulance under police watch.
The officers assumed it was a routine home–invasion case–and that the three male staff behind Scarlett had overpowered the suspect.
Scarlett and the crew were taken to the station first to give statements.
Inside the police station, the crew obviously couldn’t keep filming. They had to go in and testify, so they shut down the livestream and left the cameras with the duty officer.
The livestream had already passed five million viewers when the screen suddenly went black, leaving countless people waiting for updates.

“This is hilarious.”

“Seriously, her company needs to learn a new trick. Can they stop pushing the ‘big hero‘ script on her? First, she just happens to save a famous cardiac surgeon in a hospital, and now, this guy? That doctor at least looked kind of scrawny and middle–aged. But this one? He’s built like a tank. How are we supposed to buy this?”
