But she needed to see the recordings herself to understand what was really going on.

Cody nodded. “All right.”

He led the two of them into the surveillance room.

Then he pulled up the footage from the building the siblings lived in, the rest of the neighborhood cameras, and the surrounding streets, playing them on the screens.

Scarlett’s mental strength was extremely high. She asked Cody to play the feeds from several locations simultaneously and speed them up to the fastest setting.

Her brain functioned almost like a highly precise computer.

Her mind could think and adapt.

Cody hesitated when he heard the request.

But he still followed Scarlett’s instructions, opening more than a dozen camera feeds and increasing the playback speed to the maximum.

Cody immediately froze the footage on the first screen.

Scarlett rewound the video about ten seconds.

The frame stopped on the elevator camera on the 16th floor.

The footage showed a man and a woman inside the elevator. The man was pushing a suitcase while chatting and laughing with the woman.

Scarlett looked at Cody. “Mr. Grant, don’t you think something about this looks off?”
