Chapter 346 The Phone Call
“Dad…”
Vivian’s father was Warren Efron.
He was a serious, no–nonsense man.
Warren strode over, brow tight. He checked Nala first.
“Where did you take Nala yesterday? Vivian, you know I can’t make this call about her retirement.”
He didn’t want Nala to retire, either. But there was nothing he could do.
He knew what his daughter wanted.
The unit had brought in every specialist they could find. All the top vets. Every test had been run, every treatment tried.

Vivian’s temper flared.
“Dad, I’m not making this up. Someone really can cure Nala.”
Warren looked at the two masked men beside his daughter.
He said nothing.
He probably assumed Vivian had found some random vet.
Scarlett stepped out of the herb shop. She walked up to Warren and introduced herself.
“Hello. You must be Vivian’s father. I’m Scarlett Sanchez. I can restore Nala’s sense of smell. If you call your unit and give them my name, they’ll verify me.”
She’d been flagged by special departments after the restaurant bombing case.
So, the higher–ups knew about her.
One phone call up the chain, and it’d be cleared.
Scarlett Sanchez?
The name rang a bell.
Warren spent his days training dogs. He didn’t follow celebrity news.
But the name was oddly familiar.
The girl behind the mask had striking eyes and a sincere gaze.
His daughter stood beside her, holding Nala’s lead.
Warren thought for a moment, then nodded. “Alright. Give me a minute. I’ll call the unit.”
He stepped aside and made the call, reporting the situation and mentioning a girl named Scarlett Sanchez who claimed she could treat Nala.
His captain’s response was immediate. “Let me check with the higher–ups. I’ll call you back.”
Warren hung up and glanced around.
He walked over to Nala.
Nala was thrilled to see her handler. She kept bumping her head against him.

Chapter 346 The Phone Call
The corner of Warren’s mouth twitched up. He’d trained Nala since she was a puppy.
His bond with her went without saying.
He’d loved animals his whole life. Being a police dog handler was a dream come true.
Vivian stood next to Scarlett, fidgeting.
Scarlett patted her shoulder.
About three minutes later, Warren’s phone rang.

His captain’s voice came through. “Warren. The higher–ups have approved it. Ms. Sanchez can treat Nala. You’ve got three extra days of leave. After that, we’ll assess Nala’s condition and decide.”
The captain himself was stunned. The request had gone up the chain—and kept going.
And they’d actually said yes to Scarlett’s proposal to treat Nala.
Warren was equally stunned as he looked at Scarlett.
“Understood, sir.”
He hung up. “Ms. Sanchez, the unit has approved your treatment. Three days. After that, they’ll evaluate Nala.”
Scarlett said, “Three days is more than enough.”
Nala’s problem wasn’t that severe.
In fact, the loss of smell probably wasn’t caused by disease at all.
Her condition seemed… unusual.
The needle therapy would reveal the specifics.
Warren asked, “Shall we start now?”
Scarlett turned to Lewis and Nathan. “You two go ahead to the station and meet Mr. Grant. I’ll go with Vivian to treat Nala, then come find you.”
