“Willard and Yvonne were incredible. When Augustus smashed that inkstone just now, my heart actually skipped a beat.”

“Same here. It really felt like I’d gone back two thousand years and was standing right there, watching the emperor and empress argue.”

“I can’t believe Yvonne’s still in this kind of form after being away from acting for years.”

“Her skin’s gotten even better too. Didn’t she say she stepped back because she got sick and it affected her skin? When they were casting a few months ago, you could still see faint marks on her face. Now there’s nothing at all. Her skin looks amazing.”

“Speaking of skin, I know this online shop called Daphne Group. Their skin–regenerating cream is incredible. It doesn’t just brighten and firm your skin. It helps with everything, acne, enlarged pores, all of it. The results are honestly ridiculous. And the rest of the products in the shop work just as well.”

“Seriously? It’s that effective? I’m going to follow the shop too.”

“Forget it. Do you know how hard it is to get anything from Daphne Group now?”

“Even so, I’m following it first.”

Yvonne and Willard had both eased out of the emotions of the scene by then.

Yvonne still hadn’t fully come out of character, but she spotted Scarlett beyond the crowd at a glance. Smiling, she waved to her. “Scarlett, you’ve joined the set too?”

Scarlett smiled back. “Ms. Webb, Mr. Holden, it’s been a while.”

Willard only gave Scarlett a slight nod.

Scarlett had healed his bad knees. Now that winter was almost here, his legs didn’t hurt at all. In the past, every winter had been miserable for him.

Calvert also noticed Scarlett and Ivy.

After a pause, he said to Scarlett, “Scarlett, why don’t you go get your makeup done and try shooting a scene first?”

He had seen her audition in his office, but that had only been a few seconds of footage, just enough to show him certain aspects of Princess Mona’s personality. Actual filming was still a little different. She’d have to act opposite someone, and there were always other variables on set.

As for Ivy, who was playing Mona as a child, Calvert planned to let her try a scene the next day.

Today, he wanted to shoot the teenage Mona first. He also wanted to see how strong Scarlett’s screen presence really was.

After all, he had very high expectations for Scarlett’s Mona.

Scarlett nodded and went to the makeup room.

Andy was thrilled to see Scarlett again. The last time they’d worked together, Scarlett had even helped him adjust the makeup and explained some of her own styling ideas. The look he had created for Princess Mona back then had stunned even him.

So now that Scarlett was finally on set, he couldn’t have been happier.

He chatted with her cheerfully as he worked.

Today’s look was different from Princess Mona’s usual style. She was dressed in red.

During her short life of barely more than ten years, Princess Mona had rarely worn red. But on the day she died, that was exactly what she had worn.

It was because the crown prince had once said to her, “Mona, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you wear any color but the usual ones. I want to see you in red. You’d look like a fairy rising from fire.”

So that day, Mona had changed into a red dress to go see him.

But when she arrived, a masked assassin stabbed her through with a sword.

In the end, the crown prince did get to see what Mona looked like in red.

He saw her lying on the ground with her eyes still open, and in that instant, he lost her forever.

By the time Scarlett was done with hair and makeup, the look itself wasn’t complicated. To be honest, her makeup was barely there.

Her skin was so pale and tender it was like fresh tofu. Foundation would only dull it, so the makeup artist hadn’t used any at all, only lightly touching up the rest of her face.

Then there was the red dress, and a simple hairstyle. Her black hair, smooth as silk, was tied back with a single red ribbon. It was simple, but stunning.

The moment Scarlett stepped out, everyone on set froze. For an instant, the entire place fell silent.

It felt as though the person standing before them wasn’t Scarlett at all. It was Princess Mona.

Beside her, even Andy looked dazed.

A moment ago, inside the makeup room, she had still been Scarlett. Her eyes had looked just the same as

before.

But the second she stepped out, her gaze changed.

It became Princess Mona’s gaze–pure, gentle, and untouched by the world.

Andy pressed a hand to his chest in a daze. He was done for. He liked Scarlett even more now.

Calvert was so satisfied with Scarlett’s look that he could barely stop smiling.

“Scarlett, do you want to run the scene with your scene partner first?”

The actor playing the young Augustus was her scene partner. His name was Emmett Harlow.

He was only in his early 20s, but he’d started acting in his teens. Two years ago, he’d broken out with a big- screen film, and since then, the quality of the roles coming his way had only improved.
