The Ultimate Reborn Heiress (Scarlett) novel Chapter 366

Chapter 366 A Death Scene Without a Word

Emmett’s acting was solid too. He had talent, though he still needed time and practice to refine it.

By now, he was already in costume.

The young man stood six feet tall in a dark blue robe, a crown set atop his head, every bit the image of a noble young prince. This was what a crown prince should look like.

Emmett walked over to Scarlett with a smile. Hi, Scarlett. I’m Emmett Harlow.

Scarlett shook his hand and smiled back. Hi. I’m Scarlett Sanchez.

They hadn’t worked together before, so it served as a proper introduction.

Ivy and Nathan were standing nearby, and Maggie was there too.

The moment Scarlett stepped out of the makeup room, Maggie and Ivy both covered their mouths and let out silent squeals. Nathan wasn’t as outwardly excited as they were, but even he looked visibly struck when he saw her.

Emmett looked at Scarlett and said, You’ve read the script, right? This is your last scene, the one where Princess Mona dies. Want to run through it first?

He was worried that starting with this scene might be too much for her. It was one of the hardest scenes she had in the entire role, and he wanted to rehearse a little so she could get comfortable first.

Emmett had already been with the production for quite a while. Since he was playing Augustus in his youth, he could practically be considered one of the male leads.

Scarlett knew that her first scene would be Princess Mona’s death. Before coming to set, she had already read the entire script.

She said, No need. Let’s just shoot it.

Emmett, the nearby actors, and even Calvert were all taken aback.

Scarlett wasn’t even going to rehearse and wanted to go straight into filming?

She hadn’t done much acting before, at least not from what they knew.

And this scene was, in fact, one of the hardest in Princess Mona’s entire arc.

After hesitating, Emmett couldn’t help asking again.

You really don’t want to run it once?

Scarlett shook her head. No. Let’s just shoot.

This scene was technically a scene between the two of them, but in truth, it was only an exchange of looks. There was no dialogue at all.

Princess Mona was assassinated, fell to the ground, and died. In her final moment, the last thing she looked at was the crown prince rushing toward her.

The terror, grief, and panic in his eyes were almost tangible.

There was no scene of him gathering her in his arms and crying out to the heavens in despair. Instead, he ran toward the fallen Mona from a distance, and the two of them shared one final look. That was how Calvert controlled every scene.

With a single look, he could make the audience ache and fall fully into the story.

He didn’t need the male lead clutching his dead first love and sobbing into the sky.

This scene was filmed at another location, in a rear garden set elsewhere within the same studio complex.

Calvert brought the crew and actors over to the filming location.

On the way there, they happened to cross paths with another production. That was how the studio lot always was.

Especially at Khiburn, the largest studio city in the country. Every day, there weren’t just dozens of productions filming there. There could easily be close to a hundred.

The other crew was also filming a period drama, probably another historical series.

Walking toward Scarlett from that group was a woman in an elaborate costume, covered in gold and silver jewelry.

Scarlett knew the actress fairly well.

When she had come to Khiburn earlier to audition for . Mona, she had run into this same woman.

They had auditioned for the same role.

It was Lavender, the actress who had once been at the center of rumors claiming Scarlett had bullied her.

Of course, Lavender wasn’t really a newcomer anymore.

After struggling in the entertainment industry for more than two years, she had become something of an idol star.

Back when they had both auditioned for Princess Mona, Lavender had deliberately come over to greet Scarlett.

Scarlett hadn’t indulged her at all. She had shut her down on the spot and exposed the truth behind the rumor that she had pushed Lavender and bullied her. Lavender had deliberately cursed Scarlett’s mother to provoke her. She had done it on purpose.

Later, Scarlett had even slapped her from a distance. So now, when Scarlett saw her again, her face showed no expression.

But the moment her gaze landed on Lavender’s face, she paused, then frowned in disgust.

Lavender noticed Scarlett too. When she saw Scarlett in red, her skin white as snow, jealousy flashed

Something had been wrong with Lavender’s skin lately. It kept itching, and small red bumps had started appearing on her body. There weren’t many yet, and the foundation could still cover them.

She had gone to the hospital, but the doctors hadn’t found anything definite. It wasn’t an allergy, nor was it any other obvious condition.

Her hormone levels were normal too.

In the end, they treated it like a simple acne issue.

She had taken medicine and applied ointment, but nothing helped.

Lavender was miserable. A friend had told her about an online shop that sold a skinregenerating cream said to treat all kinds of skin problems while also improving the skin overall.

Quite a few of her friends had already resolved their skin issues with it, and after using it for a while, their skin had become fair, soft, smooth, and refined.

So Lavender went to check out the shop. She had looked it up near the end of last month.

At the time, everything in the store had already sold out.

She had even messaged the seller directly, saying she was willing to pay ten times the price for the skin- regenerating cream.
