[Hey, get lost, haters. If someone doesn’t want to give up, does that mean they’re “putting on an act“?]
Scarlett walked out of the factory and checked the map.
She was in the industrial zone of Maswein.
There were a lot of people here.
There was also a zoo nearby, so the area had some tourism too.
She looked around and picked a large old neighborhood near the biggest factory.
It was an older residential area, crowded and lively.
There was a small park at the entrance.
Inside the park stood a huge oak tree.
Scarlett took out the white cloth she had prepared and walked under the tree.
At this hour, many elderly people were strolling in the park. Some housewives were there too, walking their kids.
Everyone watched as a very pretty girl–with a faint scar on her face–sat down under the tree and spread out a white cloth.
On the cloth were two large black words: “Psychic Reading.”
The residents were a little surprised, but no one read too much into it. They assumed it some kind of show. After all, there were people filming her with cameras.
Scarlett called out loudly, “Psychic reading! Psychic reading! 200 dollars per reading!”
Only then did the residents react.
Someone stepped forward.
“Missy, where are you from? There are so many factories here. If you don’t have money, go get. a factory job. Why run scams here?”

“That’s right, young lady. If you’re in trouble, we can understand. But you can’t cheat people.
“She’s probably a content creator. Look, she even has staff filming her
“Kids these days are so lazy. They don’t want to work properly. They just want to do social media and take shortcuts.”
“I heard someone’s son quit his job to be a content creator too. Can’t even afford food, just living off his parents.”
[Hahaha, just as expected. No one believes Scarlett can do psychic readings. They think she’s a content creator.]
[Honestly, she really does look like one.]
[Looks like no matter how good Scarlett is, this time she’s stuck. No one believes her, so no one will get a reading.]
Scarlett didn’t care at all. She let people stare.
The elderly folks chatted around her for a bit. When they saw she didn’t respond, they shook their heads and walked away, going back to exercising or gossiping.
A group of elderly women sat on the stone bench behind Scarlett and started talking.
“Oh, that poor girl. She’s only 16, and her mother already wants her to get married.”
“I heard the man her mother found for her is over 20 years older. He’s in his late 30s, and he’s not right in the head. No one wanted to marry him. Her mother asked for about 500,000 dollars as a wedding gift!”
“That’s basically selling her daughter.”
“Did no one call the police?”
“How could they? You all know how her mother treats her. Beating and yelling all the time. She’s covered in injuries. The police have been called so many times, and every time they just warn the mother and leave.”
“Sigh! Poor Callie. I really don’t understand how a mother can treat her child like that. My hea ached just looking at her.”
Scarlett heard everything. She frowned slightly. She closed her eyes, sat still, and began her cultivation.
The staff heard the gossip too and quietly aimed the camera at the women talking.
