Chapter 62 No Mistake at All
Alex stood there, completely stunned.

Scarlett had said it earlier in the livestream, that when Zoey gave birth, she was in the same operating room as this woman. Pamela seized the opportunity to switch the babies.
He thought it was nonsense.
After all, what happened during Zoey’s delivery was never told to his parents or grandparents.
Only Zoey and Daniel should know about it.
His aunt actually gave birth in the same operating room as this woman?
Then how did Scarlett know what happened inside that room?
Did she really see it through her reading?
And did that mean this dark, thin little girl was actually his cousin?
Pamela’s lips trembled. For a moment, she did not dare speak.
Scarlett suddenly opened her eyes and said calmly, “Mrs. Crawford, you don’t really need to say all these polite words. We can just do a DNA test. It’s fast and simple.”
That must be the grace of a wealthy lady. Even when she already suspected the girl in front of her was her daughter–suspected that this woman had switched the babies–she still kept her manners.
“Nonsense!” Pamela suddenly snapped and rushed toward Scarlett. “I get it now! You’re all working together! You want to trick the police, force a DNA test, and steal my daughter away! You people have no conscience!”
Alex was dumbfounded.
No, this reaction was strange.
The Quinns were a powerful family. Why would they go out of their way to kidnap a poor child who was abused every day?
Before anyone could react, Pamela lunged at Scarlett.
The people around them froze.
Alex’s heart jumped. He instinctively worried about the pale girl sitting cross–legged on the side.
Surprisingly, Scarlett moved.
No one clearly saw her lift her leg. The next second, she kicked forward.
Pamela was sent flying several feet away.

The young officers finally reacted. They rushed forward, ready to block Scarlett.
Then they saw Pamela lying on the ground. They froze.
Not just them; everyone there was stunned.
Finished
Alex suddenly remembered the first week of the show, when Scarlett had kicked an intruder during a break–in.
Back then, he truly believed it was scripted.
Now, seeing it in person, he realized how shallow his understanding had been.
Pamela lay on the ground in shock for a while before she started screaming and crying, demanding the police arrest Scarlett.
Scarlett didn’t bother listening. She looked up and spoke to Zoey instead.
“Mrs. Crawford, in the operating room, your daughter was born first. After the birth, the nurse placed the baby in the bright red floral blanket Pamela had prepared.
“Your daughter was born later. You prepared an ivory–colored blanket made of pure silk for her. Even though you had heavy bleeding at the time, you personally saw the doctor place your newborn on the blanket you brought.
“You also remember Pamela leaving the operating room. She was holding the red floral blanket.”
Scarlett was telling Zoey the details for one reason only–there was no accident, no mix–up.
The switch was done on purpose.
Zoey was horrified, her heart shaking.
Even her husband did not know about the details inside the operating room.
He probably didn’t even remember what blanket their daughter was wrapped in.
She remembered it clearly. Even while half–conscious, she had seen the doctor place her baby in the blanket she prepared.
In her daze, Zoey had seen Pamela leave, holding what looked like her child.
Zoey took a deep breath and turned to the man behind her. “Doctor, please draw blood now and send it to the hospital. I want the results as soon as possible.”
She had brought a doctor with her.
Whether this was a scam or not, since she already felt that Callic looked like her, a DNA test was the fairest
solution.
The family did yearly checkups. Gemma’s blood type had always matched theirs, so there had never been a reason to doubt.
