86 The Bell Tower Forgotten By Time
Billy never once suspected Scarlett.
She was only 18, after all.
How could someone that young diagnose an illness just by looking and listening?
Billy had started studying traditional medicine in his teens. It had been nearly 50 years.
Even he could not diagnose a patient so easily with just observation.
After thinking for a moment, he said, “Could you ask your friend who made that tablet?”

Selina checked the time. “Okay, I’ll call Scarlett tomorrow. It’s a bit late now. I’m worried she’s already gone to bed.”
“Alright. Be a good girl and eat. And remember to take that medicine every day. It works very well. It’s an old formula.”
Selina nodded. “Don’t worry, Grandpa.”
She planned to take one pill every day.
Early the next morning, Scarlett got up to exercise. After breakfast, she filled Blackie’s bowl with cat food and played with her for a while. Only then did she take a cab to Brookriver Cathedral.
Yes, the cathedral shared the same name as the city.
From ancient times to now, the name has never changed.
The cathedral was built after the city and named the same way.
Inside the cathedral stood a bell tower.
It was made of stone and wood.
The tower had no special name. People simply called it the Brookriver Bell Tower.
The tower was more than a thousand years old.
After centuries of time–and many wars–it had fallen into terrible shape.
For decades, people had wanted to restore it.
But it was too hard.
The damage was too severe.
With modern building skills, no one could copy the tower’s old shape. Any repair would look strange and

wrong.
So no one dared to fix it.
Now the bell tower was barely standing. In another year or two, it might vanish from history entirely.
Many experts felt deep regret.
This time, news spread that Sophia had found someone who could repair the tower.
Sophia had retired long ago, but her name still carried weight.
So today, many experts came with her.
They wanted to see what kind of craft worker she had found..
Before Scarlett reached Brookriver, Selina called her.
Scarlett answered with a smile. “Hi, Selina. What’s up?”
Selina said happily, “It’s about the vitality supplement you gave me. My grandpa wants to know if it was left by your grandfather. I remember you said your grandpa was a great healer.”
Scarlett laughed softly. “No. My grandpa was great, but he passed away many years ago. The supplement I gave you–I made it myself.”
As soon as she said that, an excited old voice shouted from the phone, “That’s impossible!”
Then Selina said, “Grandpa, why not? If it’s Scarlett, then it is possible.”
“Selina,” the old man said, breathing fast, “do you know what it means for an eighteen–year–old girl to make medicine? This isn’t refining herbs. This is real medicine. She’s only 18!”
He sounded shaken and pretty worked up.
Selina was about to defend Scarlett.
Scarlett spoke first. “Mr. Brown, I have no reason to lie to you. Also, I can hear from your voice that you have a heart condition. You’ve had bypass surgery, right?”
The line went quiet.
Scarlett was right.
He was over 60. Having health issues was normal.
Even as a medical expert, he knew some illnesses couldn’t be cured by herbs alone.
But to hear a problem just from a voice? What kind of genius was this?
That was impossible.
Billy looked at Selina in shock.

“Did you tell her?” he asked.
Selina shook her head fast. “No. I never told her anything about you.”
Billy was deeply shaken.
Could this girl really be that skilled?
