“Hmph.” Daniel shot a look at Nathalie, sitting off in the corner, and let out a sharp breath. “She’s spoiled, reckless. And you want to just hand her shares of The Blair Group? Does no one care if she runs the company into the ground? If the sisters actually supported each other, sure, that'd be one thing. But all Nathalie ever does is go after Felice. There is no way I’m giving her anything right now.”
Camilla’s look was complicated as she mulled over what Daniel had suggested.
Felice stood silently, trying her best to seem calm and obedient, almost the picture-perfect daughter.
Nathalie’s nails dug into her palms. The pain kept her focused, the only thing stopping her from completely losing it. She finally spoke. “I don’t agree with this.”
Daniel didn’t hesitate. “The Blair family isn’t yours to call the shots just yet.”
“If you even think about giving her those shares, I swear none of you will have a moment of peace.” Nathalie’s voice was low but steady, her red-rimmed eyes fierce. “Just wait and see who breaks first.”
The room seemed to freeze. Daniel’s face darkened as he stared at Nathalie’s blank expression. He could tell she actually meant it.
He tried to hold firm. “You think you can just act out because your mother and I have always spoiled you. But if you keep pushing it, do you really believe we’ll just let you get away with everything?”
His voice softened a notch after a moment. “Felice is your sister. Apologize to her. From now on, you both get along, and I’ll give you five percent of the shares as well.”
Camilla nodded, ready to back him up. “Yes, that’s fair. Nathalie, just say you’re sorry. Felice is a good person, she’s never held the past against you, but I know she still feels hurt. If you show a little kindness, all that bad blood can be left behind.”
Nathalie let out a short, cold laugh. So all of this, all the arguing, was just so they could force her to bow her head to Felice?
Ever since she saw through Felice’s act, she swore she would never bow to her again.
She’d rather die than let Felice win.
“I’m never going to apologize to her. She got slapped because she deserved it.”
Daniel’s face was turning an unhealthy shade, caught between anger and disbelief.
Camilla started to panic. “How could you talk to your father like this? Apologize, right now!”
“You should calm down,” Nathalie replied coolly. “Getting so worked up won’t end well for your health.”
Camilla felt a rush of dizziness. She held her head, her face pale and drained.
Felice hurried over to comfort her. “Dad, Mom, please don’t fight with Nathalie because of me. I don’t care about the shares. I just want you both to be safe and healthy. I’ve already lost my parents once. I can’t survive that pain a second time.”
As she finished, Daniel turned to the assistant. “Go get a new contract ready. Take Felice to sign it. Do it now.”
