The Unwavering Heart That Broke novel Chapter 113

“You heard me. Every word.”

Lance’s voice was deep, that perfect mix of calm and magnetic, but he sounded completely unfazed.

“No,” Felice shot back, her jaw tight. “Jasper’s all I have. He’s my son. I won’t let you take him from me.”

Lance looked at her. “But it seems like you don’t have the time to look after him anymore.”

“I do. I swear, I can take care of him.” Felice’s voice trembled with urgency. “Lance, you can’t do this to me. He’s the only child Jackson and I ever had. If he’s not with me… I don’t know how I’d go on.”

Lance didn’t answer.

After Jackson died, Felice left the country to clear her mind and found out she was pregnant. The news had lit up her whole world.

Jasper became the center of her universe.

Lance knew every bit of it.

His eyes grew darker. “You’re back at the voice-over studio and Dad’s giving you shares to start a new company. Even if it’s all for show, you’ll have to show up all the time. You’re about to get slammed with work. There’s no way to juggle it all.”

His voice stayed even, but there was a finality to it. “Felice, you have to choose. Work or family.”

Felice’s hands balled into fists. “Lance, why are you doing this?”

Lance stayed calm. “I want Jasper to grow up in a home that’s full of love. I want him to know he’s still cared for, even if his dad isn’t here anymore, not trapped alone in a big house, growing up lonely.”

Felice was fuming inside.

He wanted her to give up her shares in The Blair Group.

She finally got it.

He was using her own son to force her hand, all for Nathalie’s sake.

Felice sucked in a shaky breath. “Fine. I get it.”

Right now, there was only one path she could take.

Who does this guy actually have feelings for?

He shows up with Felice, then immediately goes looking for Nathalie.

Not to mention, he got Felice a job here and funded the company.

Seriously… rich people and their drama.

Is he into both sisters?

Not that Addis was about to get involved. As long as it didn’t slow down his work, it was none of his business.

Then Lance’s phone rang. He pulled it out and saw Madonna calling.

He stepped out to answer. “Hey, Mom.”

Madonna’s voice was full of exasperation. “Lance, what did you do to Nathalie now? She just called me, insisting she has to divorce you. She kept saying she’s never done any of us wrong, that we shouldn’t keep her trapped like this. Honestly... What could you possibly have done this time?”
