The Unwavering Heart That Broke novel Chapter 112

“This…”

Camilla hesitated, her expression uncertain.

“What’s wrong?”

Lance raised an eyebrow, cool and confident. “Felice is just the Blair family’s adopted daughter, yet she gets shares in The Blair Group. So why can’t Nathalie? Or is Nathalie right, and you do have favorites?”

Lance’s words left Daniel and Camilla looking embarrassed.

Daniel shot Lance a sharp look. “It’s not easy to suddenly hand out that many shares. The board won’t be happy.”

“That’s easy enough,” Lance answered, his tone calm. “If you want to build their abilities, give each of them their own company to manage. Nobody can argue with that.”

Whether Nathalie or Felice could actually run a company didn’t matter. They could always hire a CEO to handle things for them.

Daniel fell silent, thinking hard.

Camilla glanced at Lance, her eyes complicated. “It’s definitely a solution.”

Daniel nodded after a moment. “Alright.” He turned to the secretary. “Did you take all that down?”

The secretary nodded. “Yes, I’ve got it.”

“Then take care of it,” Daniel said.

The secretary left quietly.

Felice stood off to the side, her heart twisting. Not only was her original five percent slice cut down to three percent, but now Nathalie was getting shares in the Blair Group too—and even more than she was.

What exactly was Lance thinking?

Wasn’t he supposed to be grateful to her?

Swallowing her frustration, Felice looked at Lance. “Wow, Lance. I never realized you cared so much about Nathalie. Even when you found out she’d lied, you didn’t change your mind. Too bad Nathalie doesn’t see things that way. What are you going to do about that?”

Lance met her gaze, his eyes calm and unreadable. “Whatever happens between me and Nathalie is between us. You don’t need to worry.”

In the car, Felice pulled out her phone, snapped a sneaky picture of the steering wheel, and made sure to get Lance’s hand and the car logo in the shot.

With how well Nathalie knew Lance, she’d recognize who was driving her right away.

Felice posted the photo to her social feed, making it visible to Nathalie alone, and then put her phone away with a satisfied smile.

Just then, Lance’s voice broke in, calm and serious.

“Felice, it’s time to transfer Jasper’s custody. Send him to the Adams Estate.”

Felice stared at him, completely stunned. “What did you say?”

Did she hear that right?

Was Lance really planning to take Jasper away from her?
